C8 will sell like HOTCAKES at $60k base price

BTW... 2018 US 911 sales about 10K... 918 sales about 7K... 57K includes macan, cayanne, and panamerra. Using your math, my SAT scores would have gotten me into Harvard and USC simultaneously. (give or take an extra $500K in "tuition", of course).

If you bought her a Corvette if she got a 4.0 GPA, and then drove it yourself for 4 years, it would only cost $225,000, give or take a decimal point.

Porsche and GM are both global companies and their profits are based on their total global sales, not just sales in the USA. The 57,311 I posted was the global sales of the 911, the Boxster and the Cayman. That number does not include the other models that Porsche builds. GM sells a hell of a lot of vehicles globally than the 3 million they sell in the USA.

If the base is listed for less than $70 w/ an automatic, the car should sell very well. Corvette's (even the base 1LT), come well appointed IMO. Certainly we can quibble over the little extras in the 2/3LT's (and I believe some of those "extras" will be offered in the base C8), however, most all things people expect a car to have are in the 1LT.
For the average buyer that wants the ME look, w/ better performance than the C7, entry price in the $60K range, should make the C8 should be a big seller. If a person waits a year before jumping on the bandwagon, we'll likely see Military/Employee/supplier discounts.
Of course, the down side to the low price, you'll be seeing yourself coming and going when you're out for a drive. I see way more C7's than I see Porsche Caymans, Audi TT's, AMG's or M cars.

Will win at all levels...
Base car at under $70k all the other variants to follow! Zora at the top will be Corvettes Super Car. Yes, 1000 hp! Priced at $170k and just under $200k fully loaded and warp speeds.

Finally, you get the fact that GM makes waaay to many Corvettes. They could learn a lot by following the lead of Porsche and other lower volume cars. As a past C7 owner, I can tell you they are not easy to sell unless you give them away. Simple case of supply and demand.....or Econ 101 if you ever took the class.

My Zip Code is 63382. Send me yours and I will be happy to check for you and report.
AutoTrader Results Below:
Update: just did a 500 mile radius check for new 15 or 16 911. It yielded as I expected....ZERO!
The same 500 mile radius search yielded 8 new 15 or 16 Corvettes still sitting on dealer lots.
Case closed.

Go buy a new one and let me know if you get more than 5% off. Corvettes will be 15% off or more. BTW, I am talking 911’s......not their SUV’s or other models. Send me a link on the new 15 and 16 911’s. Like to see it. Bet I can find more non current new Corvettes on dealer lots than you can 911’s

Well, we've furnished maybe one or two used cars for our kids, never new. If they want a new car, they can figure out how to swing it on their own. A valuable learning experience, which I wouldn't want to cheat them out of.

Would that be a Hybrid or gas powered? At a time when European manufacturers are showing up to 1900HP electrics at the Geneva auto show, me thinks if GM is watching the trend, Zora or whatever it will be called will be at least a Hybrid or suffer being at the back of the pack.

Case closed indeed. Call Sewickley Porsche in Pgh., PA. They have new unsold 2 and 3 yr old Porsches, Act interested, they will love to talk to you about them also. You can also check Beachwood in Cleve. Ohio they have some also. This might be a nice option for a guy like you who had to go used on his 1st 911.

The dealer in PA has 2 -17’s and your Ohio dealer shown nothing new less than a 2019. Where are the new 2015 and 2016 911 cars you referenced earlier? Do the same check on Corvettes and let me know the unsold inventory. We both know the answer. One thing is for sure, you love your brand....and that’s okay. Chevrolet makes a good car and obviously you are Chevrolet material.
Please tell us exactly what "Chevrolet Material" is. Maybe you should have remained Chevrolet Material until you could afford a new 911.

As for Chevy material.....look in the mirror. Better yet look at the Chevy tattoo on your deltoid. You remind me of some of the Harley crowd that have their bike make of choice proudly displayed.

While you may buy new on the tail end of a generation I do not. Unlike my new Corvette I took a bath on I will make money on my current used 911. I do wish Porsche had to discount as hard as a Chevy to move their cars but they don’t. Darn the luck. This is one advantage Chevrolet humpers have over Porsche humpers. If I go a ME C8 I will be able to use my employee discount by year 2 of production....only to have year 3 buyers get a larger discount than I got on year 2. Discounts are huge on Corvettes as you know. Not so with Porsche and a number of other more expensive brands.

LOl. I am a Corvette enthusiast and more importantly a CAR enthusiast. You my friend, are a VERY brand loyal individual to the Chevy brand and I will never find fault with that......as my parents and extended family are the same having retired from working for GM and with GM products. What I do find offensive is when people such as you bang on individuals who drive something different than what you drive. Having owned and driven both, the Porsche is worth the difference in price.....to me. You don’t have to agree, nor do I care if you agree. Additionally, I continue to read post after post where you rip one fellow Corvette owner after another. I would challenge you to review any of my numerous posts either on this forum or Rinnlist to see if I ever bad mouth any individual or car make. The only two individuals I openly rip are you and your twin brother Telepierre. Both of you are hilarious in your blind approach to the Corvette being your Unicorn. The biggest difference between you and your brother and me is this.......you both are Corvette guys and I am a car guy. You both are loyal to a fault and I am not loyal to any car manufacturer. They have to earn my business one car at a time. In summary, you keep buying Corvettes and I will shop. The truth is, you can thank those of us that shop for making the Corvette what it is. If everyone was a Fanboy GM would never have to raise the bar. So let that thought sink in before you start pounding on your keyboard with a red face!
