Not so shocking: several forum members will insist that any car revealed on July 18 will be completely fake and will invent conspiracy theories to explain it away. Some people will insist that the car is fake even after they've seen it at their local dealerships.

I call bulshit on the delays. They had an internal time line and wherever it fell it fell. The first Mule for the ME was 15. The first mule for he C7 was 11. We didn't see an actual bodied C8 mule until late in 16. Considering the change, the timelines are roughly the same as other gens and everything. If it was never announced, there was no effing delay to begin with!

Also it was a car that was being worked on since nam started.

Lets not start this again... the car was scheduled to be unveiled in January. I'm a project manager by trade... you don't manage a project of 1/10th this scope with a "wherever it fell it fell" approach.

TLDR version: we really don't know what GMs actual timeline was because nothing was ever actually announced... so I'm actually an *** and could very well be wrong and I'll admit it. My bad man, I'm just grumpy because I'm on 12 hour night shifts and they're not giving me overtime for it anymore lol.

I worded that very wrong. what I should have said is "we think it was delayed." They could be ahead of schedule they could be behind... For all we know this is in fact where their internal time line was supposed to fall. Or it's a year late.

I'm curious because I have way to much **** to deal with being on nights that I haven't paid attention anymore, was a January reveal ever actually confirmed or was it all just speculation? Because as an outsider looking in, unless I've missed something, we have no clue what the plan was until they actually tell us... I'm not trying to be dick or anything but we really just don't know honestly. That's what I was trying to get at. The electrical problems very well could have been leaked or just fabricated to keep everyone on their toes. I know when projects where I work get delayed be it for whatever reason... DOT and DOD come knocking and generally the people in charge are no longer there... granted it's a very different field and you need rapid turnover for said projects... wow that got long... At any rate, I'm sorry... it very well could be valid.

I kinda doubt it. Rear-wheel steering and all-wheel drive has its biggest advantages on short slow tracks, which is exactly what Nurburgring is not.

The fastest street-legal Porsche at Nurburgring, for example, has only rear-wheel drive.

I believe there will be something unique or even revolutionary about the rear window/hatch/engine cover. Something cooling related and probably something visual to see the engine bay. Could there also be something relating to a sliding roof? They seem to be going a lot of trouble to camouflage this area of the test cars out and about.

Street legal AWD.

Hybrid electric front assist or something? I doubt AWD because it affects handling so negatively

Yes, I think the hybrid mid-engine cars with electric motors on the front wheels will eventually dominate.

AWD = All Wheels Driven

Does not differentiate as to how they are driven

The big surprise will be that the transmission will include a torque converter that will operate at very low speeds to assist with 0-10 MPH starts!

I think the big surprise will be the C8 will only be serviced by 'special' Chevy and Cadillac dealers.
Can't risk the ME being worked on by dealers who still haven't figured out the dry sump oil change.
