[PIC]C8 Rear Bumper
#121
I expect the car to look fine in person. However, my immediate reaction upon first viewing was disappointed and I instantly saw strong Camaro cues. It looks more Camaro than classic Corvette at first pass. I had hoped the most iconic Corvette of all time would have screamed "Corvette" at first glance.

The Corvette has been destroyed. (if that is actually the rear of it)
I will stick with my C5 Z06, best looking Corvette!

Actually, I am somewhat pleasantly surprised that they are hiding the big butt pretty well.

Modern cars are very tall for aero efficiency and storage. They black out the lower rear to make it look trimmer. Same reason ladies wear black pants and a white top...

Chevy designs ugly new car with dated styling: News at 11. But seriously...
Bad angle or not, if that image is accurate it tells me that the design language remains unchanged: more trapezoids, more cheap black plastic grills, no complex surfacing only hard edges that lead nowhere. Hideous.
Would it absolutely kill these guys to just spend some money on design talent rather than blow it all on marketing?

Not so sure this is a real leak. Look at my arrows.
1-The height of the blue car is no where near the height of the leaked photo.
2- No mirror on the leaked car,but could be cut off in the photo with the yellow rail.
3- License plate area on leaked photo is a sharp cut on the sides, versus a rounded area on the camo car.
Guess we'll all have to wait until the 18th.
Just my two cents.

Make it fun to drive, give me a turbo and a DCT and a sub 7:15 ring lap time and I don’t care if it looks like an El Camino. Doesn’t mean I won’t complain about the looks. Some people are so protective of the car, like how is that helpful to GM to not be critical? You think the guys begging for the return of the 6 speed manual in the 911 GTs got this much flak on the Porsche forums from loyalists? Jeeez.
