Yeah it's probably because you have an appleTV. We have a new 50" in our bedroom and it's much slicker and faster with the apps. Just got a Firestick for the older TV via prime day yesterday. No more "preparing TV please wait" at startup. We cancelled DirecTV and my wife is getting annoyed at the connectivity delay when starting the older TVs.
It probably is direct through my Apple TV. The new TVs set everything up, themselves. When I plugged the peripherals into the One Connect box, it recognizes everything and configures it, automatically. A short term solution, for some, may be just to get an Apple TV.
Most internal browsers are weak with minimal computing power, but maybe the newest TVs are better? I'm just going to plug my laptop in via HDMI.
My 4-5 year old Samsung smart TV won't sync with my iPhone.
Still somewhat weak browsing on LG C8 OLED however the amount of picture and sound information being processed is insane vs only a few years back. It will handle the reveal stream without concern although live streaming several hours of MotoGP on VideoPass has reached its limit on occasion.
Will be streaming from Nvidia Shield @4k though my Denon Atmos AVR with 7.4.1 surround, to my 4K 84" TV. Should be awesome although I doubt it will be anything more than a 2 channel stereo stream, but maybe.
Can you stream it on AppleTV without using AirPlay from an iOS devise (i.e iPad)? If I use my iPad and AppleTV to screen mirror, I don't get the full display (i.e. 9x16) size of the TV, just the screen dimensions of the iPad. Could use my laptop va HDMi but would rather use AppleTV or Firestick (getting that tomorrow). Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Just use the browser (its MS Edge...but functions like any other internet browser) and go to the GM webpage and click the link for the stream. The One X is practically an HTPC (home theater PC) minus the constant manual updating. I use mine for all home theater functions now.
Does anyone know if there is a similar video or stream that we could test this out with so we can get it set up in advance and avoid panic?

If you are just linking your computer to TV, you should be able to just bring up any website on your computer/laptop/device, and click play to view a video to broadcast on HDTV.

You can't use airplay? I think sometimes I've used screen mirror and I rotated my iPad to landscape then the tv automatically went full screen.

Works for me on Firefox and Amazon's "internet" app which is their silk browser.
The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is seriously good for anyone with a Windows machine and I'm not sure why most people don't know about/use it. You aren't limited by application or browser, you can mirror your whole screen or extend the display to the TV.
I have the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. It is "OK", but a bit buggy. Not as smooth or universal as a Chromecast.
How do you get an apple product to sync with a Samsung? My iPhone8 looks for appleTV when you ask it to mirror the screen. My samsung 60" smart TV (non 4K) is 4ish years old at this point.
The new Q70 (2019 model) from Samsung has both AirPlay and Chromecast built in. Your earlier Samsung would not have it. You would have to hook up an Apple TV to your older Samsung TV if you want to use AirPlay.
The Playstation 4 has a browser that doesn’t support flash so it might not work to stream the reveal. You can try accessing the Chevy website on there and see if the videos will pop up. If they do, it should work for the stream.
I was able to put the url on the PS4 browser and I can see the countdown so I think it'll work on there...
