Doesn't look like Porsche is too concerned...

And it's just as stupid there as it is here. The 911 is a great car and the vast majority of owners want it because it's a GREAT car. Sure some buy for ego gratification (just like Corvette) but to lump them (and us) into that non-ego formed, insecure generalization that we need a CAR to help us along in the world is just silly.
EDIT: To the OP: Did you really think Porsche was going to LOWER the price of the 911 by $30,000 because of the C8? Porsche didn't get where they are by getting hysterical every time some new sports car comes out.

It doesn't matter....there are enough car buyers to go around. But they WILL have buyers coming to Corvette.

Porsche owners have an ego to stroke. They’ll always be popular.

While the C8 may appeal to many car enthusiasts, (myself included), I wouldn't be shopping for a Chevrolet if I had deep pockets.
I am sure for some, ego is an issue. For me it would come straight down to personal appeal.....
....if I had deep pockets.
But I don't. Hahahah

I think I know which group of Porsche customers GM is targeting.
The Porsche Boxter starts at $59K. Sound familiar?

The Boxster/Cayman twins don't sell enough cars in the U.S. to BE a target.

The funny thing about P-cars is that when you consider nearly 100% margin on some models and the cost to get cars here...they have a similar cost to build when compared to C7. As a former owner I’ve found them to be rather numb. Not saying my C7 ZR1 is as refined as a GT3RS...but it’s definitely faster and more fun to drive.

You guys hurt my feeling, I am a Porsche fanatic but I love the C8. I also proud to drive this bad boy around town whenever I am able to get one. My dealer want $10k adm, so I pass on it for now. Waiting for the madness to slow down and build one.

I am more of a Corvette guy but I also LOVE Porches and I have owned some. I just hated how much the maintenance was on the Porches I owned but besides that they are fantastic cars.

Only if Hawai’i roads better and speed limit higher, I would love to drive GT3T. However our speed limit is 55 mph and too many bad drivers on the roads, I settle with 991S for comfort and avoid jail.
