This would seem to disprove the statement by one forum member that there was only one press car that would be rotated between all the different magazines. Motor Trend's is Torch Red. R&T's is not.

Perfect for smuggling your kid into the drive in Movie Theater. If only there was a drive in.

Haven't driven a Miata? It is an absolute blast to drive. On a tight, twisty road, much more communicative than the Corvette, with much better feedback through the wheel and brakes, and much quicker transient response (compared to the C7).

If you flip through the images, there's a couple clips of the c8 on the track.

1.) McLaren, 2.) Porsche 911, 3.) Lamborghini Huracan EVO, 4.) Hopefully the C8...if a brand new mid engine car from a company with no experience can do that I will consider it a job very well done for their base car.

What do you suggest instead? Black maybe?

I wish they would’ve used a cleaner aesthetic configuration for the car mag tour. No black roof. No black spoiler. Open five spokes. Maybe even body color accents.

Ridiculous to have a overweight pig rental car with a $75k base price in the same test, or conversation, with the C8 Corvette.
I literally shake my head with disdain at anyone who buys a Ford product anymore. .

Ford died when they dropped the forged pistons in the 5.0, and retained the solid rear axle, both all the way back in 19993.
A shameful company that exploits their loyal customers.

The C8 roof (visible cf) is a step backwards as they didn't blend it in with accenting pieces just like the C7 halo panel in back of that visible cf top.. I am having my C7's blacked out while it's getting ppf right now. Love the visible roof hate the painted panel between the glass. The C8 has that front and rear. Easily remedied with vinyl (but they should have done this already imo).

Maybe they'll save that look for the C8Z?

That’s subjective. That would be a boring car IMO. Some people prefer what you suggest, some prefer something else. Personally, I like all black accents and wheels but no CF roof... but I don’t expect they will use my configuration for their press cars 😁

Grant you that it’s subjective. Disagree that the example configuration I posted looks boring because it lacks black roof, wheels and spoiler.

It's body color because that's what looks best with the body color roof options. They wanted a new aesthetic for this car and that included a painted windshield surround including a-pillars. As such, that favors the fully painted roof. Easy to fix with some vinyl if you wish.

Also, the C4/5/6/7 didn't have any body atop the windshield... the top of the windshield and gaskets was it. If you look how tight the C8 roof panel fits in the trunk, I think they did this partly to make the targa panel physically shorter so it had any chance of fitting.

Is this car the same as the motortrend car just different wheels and carbon fiber top to make it look different? It is torch red right? Look a little orange in the group pic.

nevermind same wheels and top on mt

Sure I've driven a Miata, good for the price but it's going to be completely blown away by all these cars with several hundred more horsepower. This is supposed to be performance car of the year, not best sports car on a small budget. But they leave out anything that's not substantially new so it's a completely flawed comparison.
