Why hasn't Doug DeMuro reviewed the C8?

I would love to see Doug review the C8... He'll probably uncover some of those little things that you would never know from the sales and marketing material and the only guy who's more entertaining to listen to is probably Jeremy Clarkson IMO.

I'm looking forward to his review of the C8... He reviews cars like regular people drive 99.9% of the time. He won't notice things like there is understeer at the absolute limit on the track, and harp on it as a huge negative... which is just fine as neither will almost every owner out there.

The numbers just don't play in Doug's favor. He's not that important in the overall grand scheme. GM's PR folks (ie: the folks that work under the Chevrolet umbrella specifically) have to manage resources accordingly. And they're doing so.
Poor Doug. GM will survive without you.

Chevy has not done a full Press Drive for the C8 yet. Nor do they have C8s in the press fleets around the country yet. Really only a handful of magazines and some Car of the Year jurors have driven it.
There should be another wave of reviews in the next 3-6 months.

Absolutely right. Then we have people that perpetuate it by making worthless threads like this.

Do you spend a lot of time putting on makeup and wig and giant floppy shoes to post here, or do you just roll out of bed looking like that?
Unrelated, I find DeMuro mostly good, but too often he makes factual whiffs or tries to pass off dull rocks as delicious truffles of can’t-get-this-from-anyone-else insight, and his goofy-tourist demeanor doesn’t sell those mistakes the way Jeremy Clarkson’s crankiness sells his.
I hope one day to see Clarkson’s review of the C8 rear fascia’s flexibility.

I watched the video earlier today and I don't know or care about Doug's relationship with GM (who would?) but he makes a good point that some manufacturers are stuck in the stone age, thinking print is still the best way to advertise your car. Bottom line, Doug gets a lot of views and has a tremendous voice in the car community.....as annoying and goofy as he is....he 10000% should've been allowed to review the C8. The C8 needs NO help getting sold, but not giving the #1 you-tuber access to a car seem petty.
Maybe GM has a problem with him over past videos. Leno, Matt Farah and MANY others were allowed to a review the car a LONG time ago. Seems personal.

Ego is believing you dictate public desires. The info is there for the open minded, and I dont have any skin in the game one way or the other. Trump will lose the election and the C8 is the most popular sports car on this planet by next year. Its quite rational and easy to see both no matter how many want the opposite to happen.

They'd probably rather give the car the someone who can review a car focusing on the important aspects, and drive it properly, rather than someone who spends a majority of their review focusing on stupid things like whether the turn signal stalk is borrowed from another car...
