Detail department called me to look at Torch Red being cleaned for delivery. Pointed out water spots that are on both sides of engine dept. Tried everything and not able to eliminate. I am sure that there will be some owners that will not be happy with looking at them when you open the engine department. Have any of you experienced this yet?
Received 2 C8's yesterday and two more this morning.
That plastic piece looks five years old. lol This is a snip of the video of TJ Hunts oil change and looks to be the same problem. Not something I would like either if I was getting one.
The detail dept said they tried everything, don't you think they would have thought of this among other things, I mean that is their job, detailing.
not really they dont usually a ton of prep work there besides run of the mill vehicles. i find it hard to believe back in black or similiar wouldnt work
gonna be alot of crying waxers out there if cant get the spots out supposedly

I think the point is being missed in that a new vehicle should not have panels looking like they are old used pieces. Agree back to black works good but it does not fix everything so don’t know if it’s going to work on those panels. Between dealer calling and pics it seems ugly.
It’s probably like the C7 “poverty splinter”. It’s just a place holder for the part that should be there. I’m sure Chevy will release the hard water resistant Carbon Fiber replacement for the C8 engine shroud shortly. Oh yeah, the piece that actually should be there. And oh yeah, bring money.
Reminds me of my old Harley Davidson days. Always told myself that the bike was fine as delivered. However, every new HD I purchased never left the dealer without a few thousand dollars worth of replacement parts that should have been on the bike in the first frickin place. Maybe Chevy is adopting the the HD model! Just sayin, it worked for Harley!
This is not necessarily a bad thing. Keeps the cost reasonable for those that would rather drive the car and are not that concerned about a few hard water spots. It’s all good!
They look like hard water spots. I'd try a little vinegar agitated gently with a toothbrush in an inconspicuous place. That's worked for me in the past.
