I agree, if that's your thing, buy a Camaro, hell they sell a COPO drag car, guess that makes too much sense...… oh well....

Yep, I sidestepped the clutch at 4000 rpm in one of my Corvairs and broke a 1 1/4 inch thick drive spindle. Thought I broke the spider gears in the diff until the toe truck tried to push me out of the intersection and the right rear tire fell off. Rear engine - good for traction and understeer.

Yes, I know all about the pull the paddles, floor it, let off, and push the brakes. But as we've seen in multiple videos: that is a difficult process that takes multiple attempts to even get a small burnout and the car has so much rear grip that it just ends up pushing the car forward. .
Hmm, just have to know how! About 9 minutes in. You can eat your tires in one step. Stupid but isf that's what you want to do! Just buy a couple of tire sets and practice!

Poor argument, WHEN EVERY CAR IS LIMIT TESTED. Does it mean all cars are built for drag racing?

Well then simple. Don’t advertise times for something the car isn’t designed to do. I ran my C5, C6 and C7 at the drag strip with no issues. If something had broken such is life. I would assume the C8 is much the same. If not simply say so.

The car hooks very well, traction is a good thing.

I wouldn't want that fixed.

I’m happy to see it has traction, blowing tires off my blown Tahoe is way more cheap fun!

Default Drag racing! Huh?

Nope, don't care one tiny bit about two people lining up, both stomping the go peddle, and see who can first cross a painted line 1/4 mile away. Likewise, I don't care one tiny bit about which of two cars can accelerate in reverse the first 100 feet the fastest.
Never been to a drag strip, never will go to a drag strip.

But a car show with 1000 beautiful card. Whoooaaa!
I am in. Toss in a hot dog and beer tent and I am way in. Toss in a Corvette corral like at Bloomington gold or Effingham, and I'll drive days to be there.
Toss in some C8 classes and engineering guys and I am in heaheaven. Toss in some tech demos and totally count in me.

But no, drag racing, no, it has zero appeal.
Nada, zip, zero. Rather listen to corn grow.

But some like it, so for them, go go go. Corvette ain't about restrictions, it's about access. So each to their own. It's all good. Even shiny spot free cars located in the drag strip parking lot. There are lots of them I'll bet.

A boring world is one filled with mirror images.

Hmm, I find your adamant dislike of "Drag Racing" but love of "Car Shows" interesting! My Street Rod goes mostly to car shows. Many Show Cars, like mine, are designed for drag racing OR acceleration!

I like all types of car events and racing; walking around Mid Ohio during an SCCA event is lots of fun. Done that often at Laguna Seca Vintage car races. Sponsored Richard Petty for >15 years and had ~30 tickets to the Darlington race track where I would bring our customers (in fact attended the first NASCAR race in ~20 years at Fontana CA several weeks ago!) I follow both F1 and NHRA on TV! In fact, the NHRA track where I go in Charlotte has not just 2 but 4, ~11,000 hp cars running simultaneously down the strip at a National event.. Haven't lived until you "feel" ~44,000 hp vibrating your body!

Also enjoy Auto Shows like the one in NYC I attended a number of times and car museum's like the Peterson in LA and Don Garlits Museum in Ocala FL

Most folks attending car shows where I bring my car love my ProStreet BB Chevy engine car!

TO EACH THEIR OWN!

This is an issue whether you want to warm up the tires or just do a plain old burnout. This is embarrassing for the car, especially once more people get their hands on them and people try to do burnouts without knowing the procedure.
Don't get me wrong, it was nice what they did will the whole paddle-pull thing so you can rev it whenever you want and "dump the clutch" if you so choose. Since the car is on the new electrical platform and can receive over the air updates, hopefully they can fix this issue.
it's called a line lock. I'm sure someone will build one. i'm not sure why you think gm would go to any length to provide the capability. there are trade-offs for fancy electronics and transmissions.
