Default Quickjack for C8

With the weight distribution being 60/40 which quickjack should be used with C8? The jacking points are not the shipping tie down points like the C7.

Quickjack 5000 has been a fantastic purchase for me. Weight distribution isn't a factor for the Porsche and I can't imagine the C8 would be an issue.

yes I agree, I have the 5000 also, would be great if someone could post up the dimension or distance between the frame lifting points of the C8...
doing clutch changes on my C5, this lift is rock solid with the trans/differential/torque tube removed.

55" spacing on the C8 lift points. The QuickJack BL-5000SLX has a 60" spread. The EXT version can go to 66".
Costco has a good deal on the 7000SLX version. You can buy extenders to take it out to 66" too.

Don't know about shipping tie downs BUT the C8 has properly located jack pad oval slots in the frame so the car is balanced.

Made this pic yesterday after a Conti video showing even their experience Tech got it wrong at first! Put the jack pads in the correct spots as out lined in the Owner's Manual and QuickJack, center post list or as I will use, conventional jacks will work fine.

This is good to know. Seems like the one thing Chevy never clarified versus just places hole every where on the underbody. I was like something doesn't look like, they're so close and unstable??!!

So does this mean the 7000SLX WILL work or won’t work?!? I see the posts stating 55” between lift points on the car and it says my quick jack can handle up to a 60” spread. But then people mention the extenders to 66”. Why?!? Are they just saying you CAN if you need them for a truck or something or are they saying you need extenders to lift the vette?? I don’t want to crack open my boxes if the damn things won’t work for the car. Oh and according to the box the 7000 is an extra half inch taller than the 5000. So I gotta worry about ground clearance too! Thanks you guys - hopefully someone can tell me. If not, I’m gonna be back on here telling everyone which Quickjack NOT to buy.

The 5000 EXT is a perfect fit for the C8. 66" long lifting tray

That doesn’t answer my question. But good to know.

This can help you. Don't tell people a 7000SLX won't work, because it does just fine.

I have a 5000SLX and it works fine. I position the rear under my jack pad and I use a trimmed hockey puck that fits in the rail right behind the front jacking point (as the SLX is a bit short) and have lifted the C8 multiple times just fine. It's solid as the rear position under the rear lift point is where the critical weight is and being off by about 3" in the front didn't throw the balance off.

I also use wood blocks that I made under all four wheels that are tall enough to support the car if anything goes wrong - safety first. It's never had an issue and I know of several other forum members that have done the same thing with the SLX lifts and had no problems.

Why are there round holes ? If it's for shipping tie downs, that would be stupid, as the oval holes could be used for shipping tie downs !

Either 5000 or 7000 will 'fit' the c8.

I bought the 7000SLX so I can also lift my trucks and suvs, Picking one or the other is more a question of lifting capacity and portability. Keep in mind you aren't limited by the front-back lift point distances, you can always slide the two jacks in sideways under a long truck and lift something far long than 60-70"
