Default Does the C8 fit on a Quick Jack, unequivocally yes and no

So here is mine up on my Quick Jack and it isn't even close to fitting. Here are some dimensions and what I did to the large block to use up front. With seeing pics of these falling off lifts, I certainly wasn't going to bias the weight to the front. The lifting blocks (modified) were probably 3 inches behind the front holes, wouldn't reach the puck by a fair amount. The car was amazingly stable and secure, in fact my son opened the door and got in the car without a wiggle. So it does work and work well, but the distance between puck lifting holes isn't even close.

All the way up.

Tape was kind of twisted in hole, no helper so may be closer to 63 1/2 - 64 inches between holes.

This is max distance between trays. Mine is a SLX7000

Modified block so it fits flat on the frame, but doesn't touch painted rocker.

Default Yes, the Quickjack 5000SLX works with the C8 without extension rails

@Phil1098 Well now I can vouch for you. I have the Quickjack 5000SLX and used it for the very first time to raise my C8 coupe. I read your posts carefully and modified the larger rubber blocks for the front lift points as you did. These lift the car about three inches shy of the standard lift slots. The car rests on the lift pads placed in the lift point slots at the rear. I agree that the car is stable as can be.

I purchased my Quickjack in the summer of 2019 on sale at Costco, but never used it until today. It wasn't until folks started lifting their new C8s that I realized the lift span was 3 inches too short. Considered purchasing the extension rails, but that created more issues. Would then be too high to slide the lift under the C8 without first driving onto planks. Also didn't want to deal with storage and added weight when locating the ramps. Nor did I want to spend more money.

As some additional info to others, I used my oscillating tool to modify the two tall blocks. Easy to do; just use a good vice to hold in place. Some photos below for added illustration.

Again, thanks Phil!

Quickjack full-height

Quickjack lifting block modified with a cordless oscilatting tool

Front lift point on modified block behind the slotted lift pad

Position of lift point with modified tall block in rail. Note standard lift point with red puck.

Rear: positioned short block at red puck located in standard lift slot.

Underbody contur which the modified lift block aligns into. Block rises into the groved area inside the outer white rocker panel and about 3 inches shy of the red puck.

Thanks, my 5000 is the same ~60 inches long. It seems you were able to make it work. Thanks for actual measurements. I tried to get the distance before and all I got was a good forum attempt to measure it from a photo of the underside of the car. I wonder if it will work on a car with side skirts (Z06)?

I did, I used a rubber Corvette lifting puck in the rear holes and the shorter lift blocks and obviously no lift puck up front because it wouldn't hit anything, but modified the taller lift block. That section of frame is the same thickness as where the puck hole is and is as flat as Kansas. It lifted completely even and smooth and was VERY solid on the lift. The factory edge was against the painted rocker and the notch I cut out was for the belly pan lip onto the frame.

Looks like we need the EXT model? The 5000 EXT goes to 66"

They sell frame extenders that would probably reach the jacking points. However, clearing the additional height might be just as much of a headache.

Another option that may work is to use the Quickjack sideways. Also a headache.

Why not just get the EXT model linked above? I'm sure OP can sell the one he has easily.

That's an option if the fitment is confirmed. Many people have multiple cars they are trying to use this with so that's one reason why not.

That's probably fine for the front-engined C4. I don't think you could get them close enough to the rear that way on the C8, for ideal weight distribution.

It looks like an EXT would be ideal for a C8. I just took this pic with pucks in front and back. The tape was hooked on the front edge of the front puck to measure maximum distance.

Thanks for the heads up on the Quick Jack. I went out yesterday to change oil in my C8 and saw the measurements didn't work so I backed the car up on my race ramps and jacked up the front end to change oil. After reading your post this morning I ordered a set of SLX Frame Extensions. The cheapest I found were from Home Depot. $256.74 including tax shipped right to my door. No shipping fee. I ordered a set as I have the 5VM kit ordered from C7Carbon and wanted to be safe when I installed them.

I've got a SLX7000 and it's taller than a SLX5000, only by a half inch, but they all matter. The extensions add another inch, I'm not sure I could get a 7000 under my car with that added to it, probably be close. I guess I could always drive onto some foot square one by board platforms to give it an initial lift.

Going to be interesting to see if the SLX frame extensions fit under the car. @Robertbruceb where did you jack the front from? Each side at a time and put the tire on a ramp?

I still haven't ordered my quick jack and will be getting the 5000 EXT.

Mine are oriented to make contact with the lifting points on the C4. Your results may vary. And there are videos out there that use both methods depending on the vehicle being lifted.

I've used my 5000 on 3 different cars (C7, Porsche 718, and Mazda MX-5). Depending on the location of the lifting points on each car, I rotate them 180º for best fit. The manual specifies they can be used in either direction. The lifting block trays are substantially longer on one side than the other.

On the C8 it needs to be oriented the way I did it. It does depend on the car and mine work best this way on my wife's 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee too.

Understood. It only worked one direction on my C7, but it worked best in the opposite direction on my 718. That was my point.

Is there enough frame to ground clearance to use the 7000 lb version? The mfg specs say it's 1/2" taller than the 5000 lb version.
