~4/26/2020~Corvette deliveries. Zora and Elfi Duntov tribute*Mike Furman@Criswell*
~How very fitting that I had planned on doing a picture tribute to Zora Arkus Duntov and his wife Elfi this week as there are so many rumors
flying around about supposed future Corvette products. I've told this story dozens of times in my weekly posts as I spent much time with Zora at the Malcolm Konner Corvette shows 1978-1990. Each Summer I would ask him about what I had read and is it true? His stock response was "Rumors sell magazines, not cars"
I learned a few things along the way over the last 5 generations of selling Corvettes, the quote that comes to mind each time is "Chance favors the prepared mind". Hence the reason I am closing in on 5,000 Corvettes sold and delivered, should happen by January 2021. Stay tuned...
*I have had deal folder lists for different variant Corvettes for years, all the way out to 2027. Send me an email if you'd like to be on my Corvette update list and I will explain how it all works. mfurman@criswellauto.com Check out My Corvette dedicated web site www.corvettefurman.com and my desk direct line is >>>301-212-4420<<<
~This week's C8 delivery...
~Francis A. of Waterville, Kansas got on my C8 list several years ago and was prepared to wait for his mid-engine Corvette. Vin 1927 was built and shipped to his Kansas home and it’s a stunning combo, Shadow Gray metallic with Natural dipped interior.
Equipment list: 3LT pkg, chrome badges, front lift, CF cluster trim, magnetic ride, red calipers, Z51 pkg, high wing spoiler, and much more. Truly a fantastic looking Corvette. Photo supplied by the customer.
Others that left the yard...
~Randy And Heidi M. of Danville, California called me last week looking to replace their C6. They picked out of stock and off the showroom floor this 2019 Corvette Grand Sport coupe in Elkhart Lake Blue with a Black interior.
We completed the paperwork/payment process via Fed Ex and yesterday Plycar trucking loaded it up for the 3,000 mile trip to their California home. Equipment list: Auto transmission, 2LT pkg, and Navigation/PDR.
~Mike and Mary Anne F. of Pittsburgh, PA has been emailing me about a new Corvette the past two weeks. Yesterday they took the 4-hour drive down to bring home a new Arctic White 2019 Corvette Grand Sport Coupe.
Mike has owned 3 Corvettes before, 1970, 1973, and 1976. Needless to say, his new C7 2019 Corvette will drive much better than his C3’s!
Equipment list: 2LT pkg, Auto transmission, CF instrument trim, Red seat belts, red calipers, chrome wheels, black interior, and Navigation/PDR.
~Local Businessman picked up this Elkhart Lake Blue metallic 2019 Corvette Grand Sport coupe. 1LT pkg with Adrenaline Red seats and Red calipers and Automatic Transmission.
and some others...
My last C7 ZR1 headed to Michigan.
Production numbers: 2953 total ZR1's built
512 were convertibles
20 in Shadow Gray Metallic
14 with automatic transmission
5 with Q9K Chrome wheels
2 with grey leather interior

Great tribute to Zora and Ellie. I was at the Konner corvette shows in the 90s and met both Zora and Ellie-they both are really nice folks. The thing I remember most about Zora was he took his time with each and every autograph instead of just scribbling his name. He really took pride in his autograph signature.

Thank you Mike for your great presentation of material on Zora this week.
It was especially nice to see some of the photos showing them here in Michigan, in areas I am quite familiar with.
Congrats. to all the new owners, really sharp looking vehicles hitting the American roads.
Have a great week ahead!

Wow....awesome photo tribute to Elfie and Zora. Thanks Mike so much for putting that together and posting. You posted a lot of "never seen before" photos that I will be keeping in my "Zora" photo file. Couldn't begin to pick out a favorite one from that group of photos!

This is such a fitting tribute to Zora and Elfie. So many pictures we had never seen before. Thank you very, very much Mike for this special Sunday delivery thread! My favorite picture this week, as they were a grand couple and partnership.

Awesome tribute to Zora and Elfie!
I have to give the nod to this pair of 1963 snow-covered Corvettes.
Driving either one in snow nowadays would be considered a sacrilege.
