Some of the anti C8 obsessions are just beyond ridiculous. ............finding any little thing to cry about........I didn't know the car was such a POS until I read about it in a Corvette fan forum site.
You simply don’t get it. True car enthusiasts just want accurate numbers is all. No one wants the emperors new clothes.

I think the vast majority of people, including myself, believe GM’s published numbers of 2.8 or 2.9s with the 1ft rollout. What we don’t believe are the PDR showing 2.6s with two people in it, in several of the runs. That’s not hate...nope, just simply looking for a 3rd party to verify...that’s what a vbox and dragy are for. Which have both proven, when compared to real track data to be extremely accurate, if anything even more conservative than track times. So far, the PDR is not stacking up well against the dragy with regard to those 2.6s times.

Not hate...we just live in the real world and want accurate data. Not some fanboy club data. I think most people would love to see the dragy or vbox pull a 2.6s. But we know it’s not likely...Given the cars spec and compared to every other cars that can actually pull a real 2.6s time.

The C8Z06 will be the car to have...GM did a great job with the C8, especially for the money. But...don’t they always?? Pretty much...Corvette is always a fantastic performance bargain. So go away with the ‘hater comments.’

That last run he says out loud "2.8" and talks about how good it hooked.

Yet the pdr showed 2.95 and the dragy showed 3.31 and 3.09 (1ft Rollout).

Which is why I said all along that dash timer is janky. The pdr seems more consistent yet still off. And i was hoping he would get one of those 2.6 2.7 dash or pdr times to compare.

And still looking forward to seeing pdr v dragy 0 to 100 and 1/4mi times. Maybe some 60 to 130 too.

Maybe when he goes to the strip tomorrow?

Nice job Iker as always.

So a 2.8 is really a 3.3 in real life once you take away the 1ft roll out. We knew the dash timer was off and uses a roll out.

His best try (3.09 1ft) was uphill but what is more noticeable about this run is the shifting point which was perfect compared to other runs.

Those who got 2.6-2.7 in PDR, dragy most likely will show 2.9 (1ft)

Still impressive at the end

C8 Z06 must do much better but how good it will hook since we saw the less power Z51 with some wheelspin.

Nobody ever said what the C8 can do from a dead stop wasn't impressive. 2.5 2.6 2.7 to 60 just appears to be too fast compared to the cars that run that quick. It didn't make sense. Now at least from that video we see why. The dash timer is .15 quicker than the pdr and the pdr is .2 quicker than actual with a 1ft rollout. So that would explain the dash timer showing that 2.5 2.6 2.7...

let's see what he can do at the track tomorrow with the dragy v pdr. You would hope whatever drag strip he's at would be level. And all this jacked up 1 2 upshift? What's that about? Heat? Or is he beating the **** out of that car to the point maybe it needs to be flushed already?

So if you don't get your way with the results, you already have a ready made excuse. Track isn't level, let's find another track. You're taking your C8 hatred to a new level.

What are you talking about?

Iker pointed out that the last 0 to 60 run was UPHILL.... level was meant FLAT not that this track would be DOWNHILL.

Some of you are too blinded by anything when it doesn't prove "your" point. Get over it. Go get your C8 and post up your record breaking pdr run like you did one time in your C7 that everyone said you were full of it... nobody here remembers that or cares btw.

This was a request for clarification and it won't be the only dragy to post results. We have one we need numerous.

the data used in this thread claims to be on an uphill doesn’t it? So why would hoping for data on a level track be loaded or any kind of pre made excuse.

Not as many responses on here as I thought there would be, title should have been 2.5 sec 0-60

Just curious, what does a 720s or gt2 rs post on the dragy for a 0-60?

This was my 720s 1-2 months back...BTW...look at the distance...127ft vs. 170ft, 50ft sooner is A LOT in a 0-60run. This was also done in 5500DA!!

How do we know the dragy data is accurate? Personally, I think the test should be made on a strip with timing lights.

Why do you crop the screenshots to hide the negative slopes? We can still see the elevation line on the graph so it’s not fooling anyone, lol.

Given all the controversy in the PRD , one might hope the car mags add PRD readings to their testing.
GM could make the reading very accurate given the ECU has instant speed data at all times, hummm

You realize drag strips are allowed to run downhill 1% from start to finish, so that the finish line can be up to 13ft lower than the start, right?

OK then, we are all clear on this now.
We then know that GM is lying, C8 PDRs are lying, C&D is lying, MT is lying along with anyone else who records less than a 3.3. Gotcha! So good to know how things really are and how many liars there are in the performance world.
