Do you think the C8 Z06 will have less power than the C7 Z06?

It may very well have less crank hp, but as stated elsewhere, will suffer less drivetrain loss. If it's a lighter package, the hp loss will probably be negated entirely.... and I'd guess weight reduction is certainly on the table for it. Curious to see where they go with it.

I'm betting on a low displacement, low inertia, TT FPC with slightly more than 650hp. Makes the most sense to me.

Not a chance. GM's target market for this car is people that will buy it new, ie, C7Z owners. They are not targeting the crowd that will buy the car second hand. If they want C7Z owners to upgrade, 600 hp NA isn't going to do it. Especially for those of us that have a 2300/2650 C7Z.
I'll be going McLaren 600LT shopping if the C8Z comes out NA. Downpipes and a tune put it around 680 whp and 3000 lbs. In another year or two can prob be had around $150k. No way I'm spending $100k for heavy 600 hp car when another $50k gets me a real supercar.

Yup, and also very wrong.
The C8 has introduced a whole slew of possible owners, aka rich people, aka REAL SUPERCAR owners. Those people were NOT found when the C7 was announced. They were not found when the C7Z was announced. They were not found when the C7ZR was announced.
When the BASE C8 was announced, now ferrari owners have interest. Now mclaren owners have interest. Now porsche owners who once upgraded from a corvette to a porsche, now found themselves debating on returning. Because of the C8 platform.
So no, their target isn't C7Z owners. They couldn't give a **** less. Because if the same whiners that are crying about the lack of manual for the C8, GM figured, good, because others want a piece of the corvette now, and there goes your new target audience.
Everyone wants a corvette now, because of the C8. GM WILL sell the C8Z whether it has 500,600, 700 or more hp. It will sell.
And it'll still wipe the floor with a C7Z. People need to accept this inevitable reality already.
