I guess I don't understand how dust is going to hurt the car. It blows off as soon as you drive off, or you can use the duster to brush off the dust if you can't bear to let the neighbors to see the tiny dust particles.

Default GM LPO Covers RNX & RWJ Only

It was only for the black premium outdoor covers ordered for MY20. There was a quality issue and GM pulled them off the LPO (RNX & RWJ) list for deliveries. There are no recalls on the premium indoor covers as shown in the post.

I don't know how many times I have brushed up against a the car with something, most recently a ladder, and the cover saved me from scratches and damage. One of my cars is black and never had the cover scratch the paint. Keep the car clean and waxed and you shouldn't have a problem.

It is important to note that my LPO premium outdoor cover was delivered with my car. My dealer couldn't find any notifications that the cover was not supposed to be delivered and it shows up on the window sticker on the car. It is the one with part number 84865968 made in Mexico in April of 2020.

I pretend my vehicles are a priceless piece of art, so I have never rubbed against it or touched them with anything.

The spiders in my garage poop on the Vette. The cover protects the car from them. My friends think I’m nuts, but I don’t like to clean off those little white dots on the paint.

Save the wave,
Ed K

PS Their names are Zora and Arkus. Maybe I could train them to hunt spiders.

The best is a painters clear plastic film sold in Home Depot/Lowe’s for $4.

Little chance for scratches. Discard as needed.

For a garage to keep off dust it would be ideal.

I can see that. I guess I don't really work in my garage. It's really large since it is a 3-car garage that is 24 feet deep, with the 3rd bay going back 36 feet, and has 12 foot ceilings. I work on my 3 motorcycles in the back portion of the 3rd bay, so I am never near any car. And there is no clutter of boxes since I don't use it for storage of stuff.

I like looking at my Corvette when I walk through the garage, so I wouldn't want it covered up.

Clear plastic could cause damage to the paint. It can cause white spots deep in the paint that cant be buffed out. I had that problem years ago, possibly todays clear coats may not be effected by the plastic, dont know.

I'm still not seeing how dust will harm the paint on a car.

I can see if it was stored for many years, but what is overnight, weekly, or monthly dust going to do to the car, that you would spend hundreds of dollars or risk damage to keep it off?

Exactly!...that's what I did .2 queen size flannel sheets from L.L.Bean and they work great..I couldn't find a cover for the hi-wing so I didn't want to spend $on a cover that won't fit right.I can throw these sheets in the washer and they just get softer!

Default Great cover

Got this cover from Corvette America in Carlisle last summer, Great fit, provides decent protection, looks great and very reasonable price
they make one specific for the C8
