Potential deadly defect found in the C8

Melting Slicks
The electronic door button in the corvette has been around since the 2005 C6 along with a manual release so this isn't something new to the C8. Read the manual and relax.

First thing I point out to anyone getting first ride in the car (and did for previous Corvettes) is point out the manual/emergency release on the floor. I also take the opportunity when at a show or cruise-in to point out to any law enforcement or other first responder, the location to the manual/emergency release.

Burning Brakes
Try egress out of the window of an upside down helicopter with 20 other people while underwater.
Several people above have given you multiple ways to get out of the vehicle, take a deep breath maybe it’ll help clear your head a little bit.
Having said that, if some button is getting stuck I’d take it in to the dealership to look at.

Why did Corvette send out multiple reminders in the past to owners about the emergency release handle? C'mon yourself- mutual responsibility is what this about. Not learning all of the nuances of your vehicle.
The manufacturer has the responsibility to eliminate possible points of failure.

Your frustration could've been avoided all together if you just read the Owners Manual. It is all spelled out how to exit the car if there is an electrical failure. The door switch can be replaced under warranty.

I have had cars with only one handle and it broke. Damn, I'm lucky to be alive today.

This guy should start a youtube channel, sounds like their typical clickbait..."Deadly Design Flaw In The C8 Corvette"

This is the only item my Salesman insisted on showing me before I left when I picked up my C8. Regardless of everything above, you need to familiarize yourself with emergency procedures before you ever drive any vehicle for the first time. Not like the manuals weren't available before the long wait for delivery. Read it cover to cover.
Btw, familiarize your passengers too! I am sure 99% will not know about it unless they are die hard Corvette fans.
Helicopter reference will go on dead ears unless one actually did the dilbert dunker (@ PNS) or remembers O&G the movie.
Another btw, don't make fun or ---- of another member for trying to help everyone else. Not everyone is as perfect as you. 👍 for the post. Even if I knew, others may not, like you.
last Btw, I keep a spring loaded nail punch in all of my vehicles - just in case for that exact reason. In an accident, electricity may be gone and the mechanical linkage may be compromised, so a quick shot from the punch in the center console and the window is shattered and gone!
