This pretty much covers it with numerical values for their respective acceleration rates with professionals conducting the tests.
C8: 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.1 seconds.
911S 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds.
This is about as close as it can get.
Google will provide you with more test results if you need to see replication of these metrics but if this type of verifiable, reproducible, results don't work for you then there is always YouTube good ole boy videos.

Seems accurate to me!!!!

Wait you have a 911s?

But honestly, if i had to pick out of those 3 cars, i actually would get the C8. And i LOVE porsche.

I just feel like, if it's a turbo s, NO corvette can touch that car. Not a C6ZR, not a C7Z, not a C7ZR, not a callaway C7Z etc. The turbo s is too much car, too much power, too much tech, too much refinement, it's too sophisticated.

Hopefully GM will make the high performance variant C8's like that.

They are in California and use 91 octane so timing is pulled not getting full power. This is directly from edmunds

Again folks. The 992 Carrera S IS NOT A 443hp car. Its not even a 443WHP car. Whether Porsche learned to trick dynos into lower numbers is up for debate as well. I couldn't give a accurate hp number either, BUT IT ISNT A 443hp car. There is no magic going on either. The car makes WAY more hp than advertised.

No wonder the 911 turbo s (the one with "only" 560hp) was destroying C7Z's and they both weigh about the same too.

The new 992 gen 911 turbo s with 640hp will annihilate a C7Z.

Porsche just have the smartest engineers lollzzz

Should be a dead heat or who leaves first. Both cool cars.

Well OK then, we have it confirmed now. No doubt about it coming from you. The auto press reports "fictional numbers".
MT, C&D, RT, General Motors, according to "Sprayer" are all liars. Interesting that they are all lying to virtually an identical degree. This is a perplexing coincidence indeed. So there you have it men, all the numbers we have been fed over the last year for the C8 are lies and fabrications according to "Sprayer". Good that we have a guy like him to keep it straight.
Just one question for our resident expert here on automotive press chicanery, are all the acceleration metrics reported by these sources for the 911S all fake news and lies or are they legit?
Can't wait for his response to this one.

Turbo S does. 0-60 in 2.6 seconds. I’m sure the C8 is right around 3 seconds but it’s not deep into the 2s when a car with AWD, 150hp more and weighs slightly less gets 2.6 seconds. Pretty much physics at that point.

Folks, ask yourselves are all Carrera S 992 models created equal? I think not, and Motortrends car was BEFORE Porsche began turning up the boost at the factory before sending the cars out. Its been done before people, and it could have been done in response to Motortrends article. Lightning lap is the real test of sports car prowess, and rest assured the C8 will be up for the challenge.

It amazes me how many are bent on speeds, quarter mile times and such. I didn't buy my 911 Turbo because it's quick, it's just a fantastic machine to drive on curvy roads or even on a trip at the speed limit. If I buy a C8 when they are available, it won't be for that reason either. If you want fast, buy electric, they are in their infancy and will only get quicker.

The porsche crew on corvette forum again and they have what they consider proof to tout how wonderful the new Carrera is.

i tend to stick to the science.... 2.8 corvette acceleration to 60. Porsche carrera quite a bit slower....

amateur videos not withstanding. Remember porsche winning the acceleration shootout is contradictory to logical and rational thought....but if it occurs in a youtube video ? Thats being held up as proof?

no offense but thats easy to doctor up...

dont get me wrong i dig the Carrera . Many many froends have them and they are great cars...but zero to sixty? Zero to 80? Nope..... Maybe...zero to 100 ..lthat I believe...

both iconic...

I actually believe the standard carrera versus the c8 z51 is more logical than the carrera S...

id suggest the 90 grand c8 z06 to do track battle with the carerra S makes more sense.

Not sure if Edmonds texted the newest 911 S (I know they did the turbo which was 2.6 seconds).
