Default Quality Control Holds

It seems a larger than normal number of recently produced vehicles are being held up for quality control holds. Anyone familiar with the details or even care to speculate as to why?

This is just a guess but I’m going to say missing parts due to a shortage. They bay them and they sit waiting for the parts to come in and be installed before shipping.

Unfortunately, I think this is true according to the recent posts in the September Allocation thread. Unfortunately, I happen to be one of them. I have been on quality hold for 11 days and counting.

Wow. Almost 3 weeks. I think you take the prize so far (although it's not a prize anyone really wants ).

I would, too, if the hold was actually a quality check, and not because parts aren't available..

Since this thread indicated anticipated shortages of heater controls starting sometime in mid Nov, it seems unlikely that there are other shortages that occurred earlier. These may be actual QA holds. Hopefully they do keep shipping cars.

John (the person who was quoted in the link you posted) posted today in the September Allocation thread that some of the quality holds are indeed from a parts supply issue. See his post in the link below:

Hoping for some concrete positive news on release of quality holds this week. Surprised no one in these forums has a personal friend at BGA that can provide specifics.

How cool is that. That's good info for those guys for sure. Way to go John, you're more transparent than GM themselves lol

I got an email Sunday from Shane at the Corvette Museum about my 12/13 build. He said they generally estimate up to 2 weeks for QC, release and shipment.

Yesterday was the first email I've received from Chevrolet "Guess what, you're ride is built". My dealer told me that a week ago. LOL

My new 2022 C8 Coupe was built on Nov. 4.
It just got shipped today Nov. 16.
My C8 went thru Quality Control, it took 12 days. The QC info was relayed to me by Shane Webb at the Corvette Museum, a very reliable source and help.
Hope this helps whoever is waiting.
