I already tried to do a search on the forum but nothing came up.
I got a check engine light the other morning, so my dealer said I could call onstar and they will give me the codes. Onstar did a diagnosis and came up with two codes, PO876 and C2A18. Both are related to the engine and transmission. I had the car towed to my dealership even though it ran fine. They said they found debris that affected the pressure solenoids. Everything tested okay so far, but they want to do a cold start Monday morning.

I had a check engine light come on in my 2020 C8 last mid-October. It was a steady warning light and I drove to the dealer right away, they said it was a minor emissions alert issue and to make an appointment to get it resolved. They were able to clear the light, but it came back the next day and I decided to wait until this Spring to get it fully resolved.
Coincidently, my XT4 had the same check engine steady light come on a couple of weeks ago, I drove it to the dealer to have it checked and made an appointment for a couple of days later, the next day the warning light went away, and I cancelled the appointment.

The dealership told me to drive the car about 5 miles then park, get out, get back in and restart it to see if the check engine light went off, it didn’t. Hopefully when I pick up the car on Monday, they will explain what they found and more importantly, the cause and the fix. If they did find debris, is it like normal engine wear that turns the oil black?
The "debris" is in the DCT. This is somewhat common. They should replace the DCT filter which also involves a "flush" (the GM diagnostics tool runs the DCT through some sequence that apparently moves debris to the filter).

If this is somewhat common, will it happen again? I’ve got 2597 miles on it.
It also happens in other makes of cars and other companies.
Got my baby back today. The problem was a clogged DCT filter. The debris was microscopic and that’s what triggered the check engine light. The tech performed the required fix which included a complete flush of the tranny and a few other things. GM now has told all dealerships to perform the same maintenance procedures on all C8’s when they hit 7500 miles.
