Default 2023 Wheels

I put my order in last week for a 2023. Dealer says I should have car by late May early June. Very excited, however does anyone else find it strange ordering a $90,000 car and GM can't even show a picture of the wheel choices or other new options. Yes, I have seen the spy photos people think are the wheels but that's not for sure. Even my dealer is embarrassed by it. Happy and excited, just find this almost laughable.

It is odd and I did the same. I figure if I do not like them there will be a large demand from 20-22 owners wanting the new wheel and i can sale easily.

Are there specs on the wheels? Are they lighter than the standard wheel?

Until the wheels are in the hands of someone who can weigh them, it's anyone's guess as the specifications aren't typically published.

They are forged.

Here are some quick and dirty photoshops of what the machined faced wheel may look like based on the photos of the anniversary wheel taken on the transporter...

GM's photo of the machine faced anniversary wheel...

Nice work, your "quick and dirty" photoshops give a great visual.

Thanks. Looks great. Torn between these Q99 wheels and the base wheels on my Torch Red Coupe. I like the machined face, but they also look kind of busy with the 20 spokes. My favorite wheels are the 14 spoke machined wheels on the Z06.

Nice photoshop work. I went with the gloss black but hoping that are not super glossy. The split picture from GM looks more satin.

If these were replacing the "base" 5 spoke, I'd say GM finally had a decent entry rim...but that was not meant to be.

I did the same when I sent my revised specs to my salesman today ... getting an allocation this month after passing on a 2022 allocation last month. The additional $995 over the price of the base wheels seems surprisingly low for forged wheels.

Edit: I hope they are super glossy!

The rendering shown, seems to be the Q99 20 spoke machined faced forged wheels. It’s a 1,995. option.

The other new forged wheel (Q9a) is 20 spoke with red stripes. That’s a 1,495.00 option.

Personally, I think both look great, especially the Q99 on some body colors.

And the "20-Spoke Gloss Black Forged Aluminum Wheels" at $995 are option code Q9I. I actually prefer the Q99 "Bright Machined" but I thought that the Q9I Black Glossy would go better with the Arctic White HTC I'm getting which will have a carbon flash painted top, mirrors and low profile spoiler. When it comes down to it, there are no bad choices.

You are correct, Q9I are forged too, I should have included that as forged in earlier thread.

The wheel colors are subjective. Same for caliper colors. I personally like the calipers blend in with the wheel colors.

Positive for black wheels you mentioned, they hide brake dust more.

for those wanting a spectra gray vs the new.

I just changed back to spectra gray trident because like someone said above it looks busy on the stingray.

I just added the 20 spoke wheel to my final final final order lol. Anything is better than the current 5 spoke.
