Default 2023 70th

I can purchase TODAY a 2023 70th Anniversary edition in pearl white for 25k above MSPR, is this supposed to be a great deal? I know ALL 2023 Corvettes are 75th anniversary badged cars not just as much as the 75th package cars. Should I jump on it?

25,000 over MRSP is not a good deal . If you want and have the extra cash go for it. I would never pay over MRSP on any car .

I agree with the above. No way I would ever pay over MSRP. If you were to pull it off the dealer lot and get into an accident, the insurance is only paying out MSRP. An insurance company would laugh if you asked them to pay a "market adjustment". So, you just lost $25k.

That being said, every single member on this forum who is selling their 2021 TWO year old car is asking $10-$20,000 over for it used…

For $25k over? No way. Just order one at MSRP and wait the 6-12 months or get a CPO McLaren, 911, R8, or something else basically depreciation proof. Like the previous poster said, that $25k is basically gone if anything happens.

Unless of course your net worth or monthly cash flow is insane that is.

25K over MSRP is not a good deal, It's your money and maybe you will not regret it a year or two from now, the C8's are not flipping like they use to

“Anniversary” Corvettes seem to carry a small premium over time as compared to non-anniversary cars. Of course it’s up to you to spend THAT MUCH over MSRP, but I don’t think you’ll get that much back on the back end. So few corvettes are actually collectible and even more so for the modern ones.

rule number one… never borrow money for a depreciating asset. So if you got that much lying around in cash and nothing to do with it, why not? Enjoy.

I am waiting the 1 year. Sure, I've got the money to pay over MSRP, but will not do so. But the best example is if you pay over MSRP and the car is in an accident - I believe that NO insurance company will cover the $25K over or even $1K over.

If you're wondering if it might be worth a lot some day because it's an "Anniversary Edition," the answer is no. This isn't a limited edition model where GM is only building 100 or something. GM will build as many as people want to buy.

IF you really, really, want a 70th anniversary car, paying ADM is probably the only way to get one. If you put down a deposit today at an MSRP dealer, the 2023 model year will be over before you get your car. So if you really, really want an anniversary car, then $25K over may be what you have to pay.

Well, as many as they can make, and being halfway through the model year already, that hasn't been many. Sure, it's not a limited numbered car like the C8.R, but I don't think there's going to be a ton of them. Unless the supply chain miraculously fixes itself.

If I really wanted a 70th, and I could negotiate them down to 10k, I might go for it.

Not true. Your insurance will pay market value, which on a C8 is probably slightly above MSRP at this point. Case in point, my 2020 Land Rover Defender ($71,xxx MSRP that I paid $70K for) is worth $72K on trade right now two years later. And that is dealer trade. If I totaled it tomorrow, my insurance would likely give me upwards of $75K for it. The number on the Mulroney label has nothing do with what your insurance pays.

Edit: to keep it on topic. No, $25K over sticker is not a good deal for that car. If you have a bunch of money and your hair is on fire to have a Corvette, go ahead and do it. But that car is available at MSRP from a lot of dealers if you are willing to order and wait.

Reeder Chevy somehow has 4 new available, each for $25K over, you can even pick and choose color and coupe or HTC.

.
True. I know that as of a week or so ago they had delivered at least 380 of them (VIN ending in 0380), so probably more than that built by now. You're right, there probably won't be many thousands of them, but I can easily see more than a thousand being built by the end of the MY. Still not rare enough to be worth a big premium over a regular one.

save the 25k and get on a few list that don't go pass MSPR be patient and wait - 25K is a lot of money, unless you've got it like that.

Your money, your choice. As for me, that is not a good deal. I would not pay over MSRP for a vehicle, but that is my decision.
