C8 center stack switch LED brightness

C8 center stack switch LED brightness
Am I the only one or does anyone else think the LED’s need to be brighter. In daytime light I can not see the LED’s unless I put my hand over them. These are the lights for the center stack control functions. Has anyone done anything to make them brighter?

Not sure how hard it would be to access the stock LEDs, but I would bet some of the lighting vendors could give you some advice on how to install brighter LED lights.

If you go to YouTube and look up “squirrel cage garage” that guy shows how to take the whole dash out on a C8, so he probably shows how to access the switch assembly. But I hope somebody knows how to change the LEDs

Agreed, I have found the same thing during daylight hours. They really would need to tie them into the dimmer, if you make them brighter during the day they likely would be too bright at night, so would need to be able to adjust them.

2023 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I've gotten used to them and really not much of a problem for me...I simply slide my right hand, slightly cupped, alongside the buttons and then press with my thumb if I need to change a setting...

Lot's of guys here bitch over the most stupid things.
Life's too short. Tremendous number of great things in the C8 and guys gripe about cupholders and LEDs.

Yeah, we like to bitch about LEDs and cupholders (actually the cupholders on the C8 are fantastic compared to the ones that were on the C7....could they have been improved on the C8 as a result of our bitching?) and other minor flaws, because that's what people do on forums. Some bitch about the square wheel (I love it), others bitch about the stereo (I have mixed feelings on that one), and complain about any number of other small inconveniences.....because you know what?.....the C8 is fantastic but not perfect.

I’m just saying we are all lucky, fortunate, worked had enough to have a C8.
So why not just be thankful and enjoy the Vette GM has designed and delivered instead of focusing attention on petty issues?

Given the choice of removing the entire dash and pursuing an unknown solution to make the "great wall" LED indicators brighter or cupping my hand over them to see if they are "on," I think the choice is a good measure of one's sanity.

I've never been in a C8, except for two laps driven by an instructor at Spring Mountain. How is the infotainment screen and the driver's display screen.......can you see everything here in daylight? I assume the C8 HUD can't be seen in daylight, it can't in my C6. No problem with displays in the C3s..

The HUD is plenty bright in the brightest sunshine. It is vastly improved over the C6 HUD.

I tap the climate icon on the main screen and use that to make changes. Like you I can’t see them either.

Melting Slicks
For the HTC it is even worse, I do the hand cup technique to be able to see them on a bright sunny day with the top down.

It could not be perfect for everyone since expectations differ but like for everything else, the squeaky wheel gets the grease
It goes to the product team talent that we have time to gripe about such small details. That means they got an awful lot right.
