Anyone afraid to take their C8 out to public places?

Go for a grey color with body-color accents, the basic silver wheels, and nothing else (no wing, spoiler, nothing) to the exterior except tinted windows. That's about the most mundane-looking you can make it look--if you are trying to avoid rubbernecking.
Personally, I don't feel a car like the C8 is the right choice if you are worried about attracting attention. An A5 / S5 would be a better alternative. I, on the other hand, fully intend to lean into the C8's design and allow you to see me coming from neighboring states.

The only one that is right in selecting a C8 is the one who pays for it, regardless of choice. Your detailed effort to ridicule a fellow member just because of a different perspective is nothing less than classless.

I have yet to see a Go Fund Me for any Corvette owners whether they try to avoid attracting attention or those who are constantly rubbernecking to see if they are being noticed, and no one is telling you whether your preferences are the right choice or not.

All I was implying is that if you are worried about attention, the more outlandish the design is--the more you will get noticed. I did not ridicule anyone. The guy who has a Z06 and a Huracan mentioned how much more attention the Huracan gets than the Z06. Well that kind of relationship also exists between the C8 and any non R8 Audi. That's all.
Would I personally worry about it? No. But if that is of concern to the OP, then picking something besides a C8 is nothing to be ashamed of. A car like the C8 is supposed to be fun. If you're doing it with a mild amount of hand wringing every time-then it cannot be as pleasurable as something you can drive that does not include the worrying factor.

I wouldn’t take it places where I would worry about incurring damage from parking. That’s not fun to me and it’s supposed to be a fun car.
Walmart, Lowe’s - huge parking lots where I shouldn’t get any damage, happy to drive it there.
While it’s a beautiful car, you have to remember it’s almost NEVER the most expensive car around you. Trucks, Suburbans, Yukons, etc… are all potentially more expensive

2023 C8 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I would not say I am "afraid" but I choose to NOT take it to places where I have to leave it in public parking areas.
People 100% SUCK and there are some who will do "****" to someone else's property out of jealousy.
I chose to not tempt fate.

Completely understand^. We've raised 2 generations of people who do not respect other people's ****. So until I can get a Magna-Volt for my C8 to deter thugs who would mess with it--I'm going to be leery and careful.

I don’t understand why anyone would buy a car they are afraid to drive or park in a “public place”. Does that mean you only drive it to family and friends houses? I mean on a date night you leave it at home because you won’t park it at the restaurant? Never stop at a store?
I mean people are going to be people and if they mess with it then crap happens I guess. I just make sure to park as far away from people as I can and I never act like an *** and take two spots because to me, that’s asking for someone to mess with it.
I bought the car for my enjoyment. For me that means taking it where I go and not worrying every minute of my journey. Just my opinion.

Mine is essentially my daily driver. I'm retired, so don't drive every day, but unless I need more space or the weather is really crappy I drive the C8. To the store, to the doctor, restaurants, whatever. Drove it to Costco, Home Depot and a grocery store this morning. 22K miles in 2 1/2 years. I don't let a valet park it, however.
Life's too short to drive a POS car when the c8 is so much fun.

I think like driving in the snow and salt it comes down to if it’s a keeper or if you flip cars often. My last c8 was accelerate yellow. I drove and parked it everywhere just like I have all my vettes. I never park next to pickups or 2 door cars but anywhere else is fine. Never had an issue. I think parking way out draws attention and issues.
OP, I just traded for a 24 ct5, on a list for a 25 ct5 bw….6 speed!

I am very careful where I park but usually drive my other vehicles for date nights or when the weather is bad. I've had cars hit while they were parked, and perpetrator gone. So, I understand why folks with nice cars are very careful where they park.

Be very careful of letting your car own you. I had the "where can I take my car" thing in the 1960s when I bought my first Porsche. I was afraid to take it "anywhere" other than the open road. Once I accepted the fact that at the end of the day it's just a car, I truly began enjoying my cars: 3 Porsches, a host of other nice cars, and now I'm on my eight Corvette in 31 years, approaching a total of 1 million miles (lack about 7,000).... about the only thing I won't do with either the Ferrari or the C8 is park at the airport. Otherwise, it's just a car -- restaurants, Walmart, Home Depot, hotels.... I have never had a car vandalized in my more than 66 years of driving in 58 countries and all 50 states. It's just a car, don't let _it_ own _you_.

I'm a millennial but don't fall into the Phase 4 generalization so neatly. As a 1st gen immigrant starting from nothing with my parents, we've had to conservatively fend for ourselves and be gracious. Our lived experience aligns more with Phases 1/2.
