Default Repeated request for password

My '23 Stingray info screen keeps showing a message that reads, "Please confirm password to continue using connected services." This strarted after about seven months. It gives me options to; (1) Do not remind me, (2) Remind me later, (3) Enter Password, or (4) to X out. I don't know why this came up and I don't know what password it is asking for. I have tried every possible password to no avail. It pops up almost daily when I start the car, but not every time. And no matter which option I choose it keeps coming back. It does go away when I X it out, but keeps coming back. Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?

You can either choose to cancel out every time, or input the password from your chevrolet.com account.

Are you sure it's the correct password, i.e. confirmed by logging into the chevrolet.com website? If so, then that's something I haven't seen before. I get a periodic ask to re-enter my password maybe every few months, but it always goes through.

I had a similar problem where it wouldn't accept my OnStar/MyChevrolet password (make sure you tried both or they are the same) and that you are in an area with good AT&t cell coverage. OnStar support had me reset my password and it still wouldn't accept my new password. They then hade me delete my account and then set up a new account but the car still wouldn't accept the new password. They then said I needed to visit my dealer and then it decided to accept my new password before I made it to my dealer.

If you delete your account in the car you will lose your profile settings.

I don't have a 23, so the menus and services may be different, but try going into the accounts screen and removing the account you think it might be asking about. Then if something stops working, sign into again with the right username and password.

It sounds like from a quick web search it may be your MyChevrolet account.

I just tried again. Went to my Chevrolet.com account and verified my password. Then went to the car, got the pop-up and entered the password correctly. Got a message saying password not accepted, try again. Tried several times with slight differences, such as lower case in place of the upper case letters. Still no luck.

I guess the threat of a trip to the dealer was all it took. Thanks, I'll try the threat!

I've been cancelling out regularly for 3 1/2 years (2020 model). Used every password I have ever used, tried different locations (better cell or wifi service),
still no joy. It's not worth a trip to the dealer, so I just live with the minor inconvenience.

Hope you can get it figured out. Kind of makes me glad I do not have to deal with such things on my C7.

The most annoying thing about my C8 is the stupid messages on the infotainment screen. Is it the end of the world? No… but it definitely adds to the feeling that it’s not “my” car because I cannot control what it does.

The car is amazingly competent but after all the Onstar SmartDriver nonsense, losing Nav because my 23 deposit became a 24 car, the gm 4G LTE cell phone connection that I have no control over and these stupid messages… that I have no control over…. Makes is hard to love the car as much as I should considering how capable it is.

You do have control over the car, just don't know how to do it. I start my car, no messages pop up, and it goes right to Android Auto and the last app I used, which is usually Waze.

The next time y'all are at the dealer, have them help you get rid of all that crap and set it up how you want.

I think (but don't know for sure) that the password request only comes up if you've set up a user profile. If you delete the user profile it should stop asking you for a password.

When I called Sirus they said the adds are part to the radio 🙄 and you can’t get rid of them. They don’t appear all the time but 1/3 of the time when I get in the car there is a message pushing Sirus - don’t have don’t want or Onstar - don’t have don’t want or Onstar location services - that I have turned off.

I leave my car on the FM radio. That’s all I use. If you connect your phone as soon as you get in that might be blocking the adds for you. I don’t connect my phone. Or anything.. Just leave it on the radio 🤷‍♂️

And I seem to get adds specifically for the things I don’t want to buy…. Because they only appear sporadically I need to have phone ready to take a picture because they won’t appear if I bring it in.

I was under the impression that you cannot stop the adds. I was hoping canceling Onstar would stop them but I got one today…. Annoying AF.

I have the same thing every now and then on my caddy cs5. Try your Onstar P/W.
