Well, not a great day. I arrived at dealer at 8:30 AM after a 2 hour and 20-minute commute (left at 6:15 AM). Said it would take between 2-4 hours. At the 4-hour mark said he was getting my car. I guess the update went OK but have a Check Engine light now and a P0700 code. He said he'd need a couple of days to diagnose. Car was fine when given to them.
Texted with dealer late today, issue is resolved although not exactly sure what it was as of yet. Pick up car tomorrow. I'll see if any details are available.
Finally got my car back today after 10 days to do this update. Car seems to work fine. Will have to wait and see. But it also worked fine before I took it in.
Still have to go back to the dealer to have the front bumper replaced that they broke doing this update.

I had ths recall done at the dealership but it does not show up as an update when you look at the updates history using the car's display. I am wondering if the dealership actually performed the update. It was to be done while they were changing the transmission fluid and filter. The invoice shows that it was done but the car doesn't show it and the monthly email I get from OnStar shows it as incomplete. I don't know if OnSTar queries the car for updates or if it relies on the service department to make an entry in the corporate system.
I recently bought a used 2023 2LT Stingray. 3800 miles. I took it to the dealer today for the engine oil/filter change. They informed me of this Serial data gateway recall (N242435630) and performed it in about 30 minutes.
The only updates that will show on the car’s display are the “Over the Air” updates.

went in for my first oil change ( and to fix driver door latch intermittant malfunction ) and dealer told me that the " customer satisfaction program ( N 242476670) serial data gateway module " had to be done .. 2 hours later , car won't start .End of day so they will give it back tomorrow ... i hope so ... or else they will have to keep it for a week because I'm headed for Ron Fellows tomorrow and will spend a week in Vegas . Car has been perfect so far

FYI (sorry if this was posted elsewhere) this "Customer Satisfaction Program" has now expanded to 2024-2025 models. I got my letter over the weekend. Seems like this was a known problem even before a lot of the '24's and '25's were delivered so not sure why this wouldn't have been solved before. I am not taking mine in just for this and will deal with it when I go in for my free oil change in August.
Received the letter today. Since I have a list of required fixes, I’ll have this procedure done at the same time. Another trip to the dealership ….. yay.
I guess another reason to never purchase a first model year - Low Vin 2020 don't have the problem or Non Recall.
If not a "recall", is there a GM link to verify if you are affected by the "recall" vs hoping a letter does or does not arrive in the USPS?
This "recall" is only for 2024 & 2025, but this problem with batteries dying is not new. Did earlier models get an OTA that solved this problem? If so, it was not a required dealer visit or take hours.
I just got this notice yesterday and made an appointment today for the update. Even though I have done a couple OTAs, I never had a problem with the battery draining.
When I got to the dealership they said there were TWO outstanding recalls on my '24-- one for the Serial Gateway Module update and another for a Body Control Module (BCM) update. I told the service advisor that I never got a notice about a BCM update, and he said it just got released from GM. He said I'd probably get a notice about the BCM update shortly.
After an hour and a half, one latte and one donut later, they had done both updates. The car started like normal with no CELs and no problems. I'm glad I got these two updates completed just in case.
