Great example of an invoice that spelled out the key steps in the DCT filter change procedure. It inspires confidence in this particular dealer. I think its rare to see one posted that has this much detail.
I believe this dealer is an exception to most of the dealers we hear the "stories" about on forums.
The rest of the story about this service visit: The DCT filter service shown above is the free warranty-supplied service that my service manager promised me in June when I had them do the free engine oil and filter service at 24 months. The car's mileage was up to 7,720 for this job. Here's the link where I posted my experience at the dealership then: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1607896561
I definitely will continue having this dealer do all service work on my Stingray!
Yeah. It’s listed as a ‘customer satisfaction’. To the laymen, if you gotta take the car to the dealer it’s been recalled. The didn’t call the truck software a recall either, but it sure was a brick from their software issue and could have left me stranded given the issue was quite active. Semantics….
From what I understand, some updated happen in the background, some are requested to be installed by the user. These can get ‘stuck’ and the software isn’t smart enough to know that it has to stop attempting to install as thr battery is being drained beyond working capacity. That is hat happened to our truck. Dead in 24 hours. When I hooked up the charger it was at 3v and 4% charged. Took over 12 hours to bring it back to 100%. I’m assuming a simple battery monitor and programatic cutoff are what they’ve added to the software.
The dealership also refused to replace the battery. I pushed that drawing battery that low will damage it. They put it on a tester and it passed all tests for CCA etc so I was denied. They still blamed me and said it wasn’t the OTA issue.
Stealership is an understatement.
I had the same problem with mine. Dead after every time I turned off my car for more than a min.
i was getting super annoyed, this was before the “recall”.
went to my dealership, they said it was the battery and replaced it under warranty. No problem since but now I get a notice from GM to get this recall done

Several weeks ago, the battery in my 23 went completely dead. It was replaced under warranty but was a big pain since the car was in my garage and could not move with a dead battery. Dealer wanted the car in the shop for the replacement, but Roadside Assistance would not pull the car out of garage. I finally convinced dealer to just bring in the dead battery and get a new one. Everything worked fine on the car after that.
Now today (Wed 11/6) I took the car into the dealer for the free oil, filter and DCT filter change. At the same time, they would do the safety recall.
Well, that went horribly wrong. Whatever they did locked the module, and the car is now a brick. They said they would have to replace the module and reprogram it.
How much do they have to tear up my car to do that?
Anybody have this happen with this recall?

^^^ have not had mine done as yet, have had no issues with the battery draining etc...'23 2lt 18k+ miles... always my 'fear' when they mess with the computer/download.
So now 3 days later. the dealer replaced the module yesterday, but it still does not respond. No word on what to fix or when it will get fixed.
Any ideas?
I assume you are talking about the Serial Data Gateway which requires programming and set up after replacement. If your dealer has followed all of the indicated diagnostic procedures with no success, the are going to have to contact GM engineering for support.
Stopped by dealer yesterday to pick up new sway bar. Talked to service guy and set an appointment for next Tuesday at 8AM to get the update. Said I could wait for it. I'll post up after done.
Well, not a great day. I arrived at dealer at 8:30 AM after a 2 hour and 20-minute commute (left at 6:15 AM). Said it would take between 2-4 hours. At the 4-hour mark said he was getting my car. I guess the update went OK but have a Check Engine light now and a P0700 code. He said he'd need a couple of days to diagnose. Car was fine when given to them.

Another example of why I've never let an OTA to happen nor an update at a dealer. MY23, same software that came out of the factory. 8000 miles and 8 HPDE events and no issues. If it ain't broke, don't "fix it".
Z06 built last week of January, 2023. 9310 miles currently. One OTA update. I checked the diagnostic code history on my car using my MDI2. One historic code - a lean misfire at low engine speeds, low loads. Nothing else active or historic. One code! Do I want GM screwing with my car? Ahhhhh, no.
My '23 has done an OTA update and I've checked the system with an OBDII ...never a code, never a mis fire etc. in 18k+ miles...never a CEL...the car has operated perfectly. Never a battery issue.
Not sure I want to get this update as computers are/can be finicky and some have reported issues...what is the downside of not getting this done....what most excellent updates that you can't live without have been downloaded?
Getting ready to take my 23 in for 7500 mile DCT filter and free oil change. How can I prevent them from doing the RECALL update?
I turned off auto updates after reading about the issues. My car is perfectly fine and has never had any OTA updates.
now it's been more than a week that my car has been a brick since the update. They have replaced the serial data gateway module 2 times and it still does not respond. Tuesday I contacted GM Customer Care and opened a case on this. This sparked the GM Enginering to get involved. Today (Thursday) I found the interior of my car is almost completely torn apart for them to chase down and check more modules and wiring.
My car was working perfectly before this software update and now i don't even know what I'm going to get back or when.
Beware of this update!

Help me understand, when you say your car is a brick,, does it run/drive?? As a sidebar, did they give you a loader?
Hey all...I had the update about two weeks ago now. About an hour for the fix, so I waited and drove it home. I've driven it a few times since with no issues.
