Has anyone installed the Soler Controller? And if so how does it work to prevent the car from being stollen? Is it worth the money? How about the throttle response?

Yes many have and there are a ton of reviews / threads on the site that will answer this.
Not sure on the theft protection but it completely changes the feel of the throttle and you get a much more responsive experience
I put mine in last week. I like it. ALOT. This is how it should be from factory. They can still drive it in the Lock out mode, but it only idles. Harder to steal, but could still be done.
If you use the phone app to "lock" the throttle, nothing happens when you push on the pedal. BUT, that doesn't prevent the car from starting and idling. You can back the car out of a parking space at idle, and you can put it in neutral to make it easy to tow away.
OTOH, the typical car thief probably doesn't have a tow truck standing by, and once he figures out he can only go 2 mph he's probably going to look for an easier target.
Will the Soler prevent your car from being stolen? No. Will it make it harder to steal? Yes. Will it reduce the likelihood your car will get stolen? Probably.
There are several threads about the Soler throttle controller. I love mine , as do most who have them. With regard to your question, I'm betting it came after watching the last Rick Conti tech Tuesday video. It is correct that one setting of the controller is a lock function, which prevents the throttle pedal from reporting downstream that it has been pressed. I've never used that function but if you're worried about car theft it is one possibility.

The Soler throttle controller is well worth the cost, if for nothing more than improved throttle response. I have noticed it on my C7. I have not used the throttle lockout feature on the Bluetooth version but if it makes it harder to steal the car, that is a good thing.
It will more than likely make the carjacker stop in the process of stealing and abandon the car. To prevent the act of stealing I would suggest placing a note or sign that notifies the potential carjacker that the C8 is in idle mode.
I came to this thread because I just watched Rick Conti's Tech Tuesday from last week. It sounds like the improved throttle response is as good a reason to purchase it as the extra layer of theft protection. From Conti's video and this thread, it seems there's no downside to the controller, no good reason NOT to get it.
I purchased it from an C8 owner locally, and never ended up installing it.
You should still try to install it. You won't regret doing it. Should take about 10 minutes, depending on how flexible you are when trying to reach the gas pedal assembly. It makes a huge difference on the throttle response.
