So this just started happening on friday. When I turn off the engine and open the door, the radio stays on. I have to manually press the button to turn off the radio. I've searched this online and found that there is an update for the car apparently. When I go into the settings to check for updates the option to press is shaded so it can't be selected. Has this happened to anyone else? It is a 2024.
I have a 2025 Z. My infotainment system started doing strange things 1 day. I performed the below soft reset as described. The issue was resolved. Hasnt come back since.
To reset the infotainment in a 2024 Corvette Z06 (which uses the newer Google built-in system), the primary method is a soft reset: hold the phone hang-up/end call button on the steering wheel for about 10-20 seconds until the screen goes black and reboots, which fixes most glitches without losing data. If issues persist, a factory reset can be done through settings but erases data; otherwise, try turning the car off for a few minutes or, as a last resort, disconnecting the battery.

Sounds like you may need a software update. That is what the indication was in my C7s and now my C8s! It's designed to stay on as an indicator a software update is needed.
Just posted this on another Thread as happened to my 2024 a ~week ago:
For those new to the procedure I'll review what occurred today:
Started the car and saw the message update available.
Just drove to the store as planned.
When I stopped at the store the message appeared again and when I opened the door my sound system was still on. That is the indicator an update is needed.
Left and did the food shopping as planned.
Started to return home and message appeared again.
Drove home as I have in previously and in other Vettes as it appears I don't have issues when in the garage and the car can use my WIFI as have set to allow and had put the WIFI Network Access Code in the car last year. (BTW had an issue ~6 months ago when I tried to download software when in town. It did no take. Was fine when I started in garage.)
Pressed the ACCEPT Install. Then another message came up and said something like Are You Sure You Are Ready? Didn't read (just like I don't most Internet legal "stuff" before Accept) and pressed Yes or whatever!
Said it would be 15 minutes and would start in 50 seconds.
Shut the door and looked thru the side window as it counted down and said Update Started. Funny don't recall this before but my sound system was still playing a song. That stopped after about a minute. (BTW, after learned that is a new twist during install of new software. Sound system can play for up to 15 minutes.)
Went back an hour later to check that it was installed. Do that as "just in case" there was a problem it would NOT drain the battery.
Pressed the Start Key without my foot on the brake. Center dash came on and showed Update Successful.
I also have a 24 2LT and this issues actually started about 2 weeks ago when I went to the store and nothing would make the gd radio turn off, even turning off the radio which was connected to my phone's bluetooth. I couldnt figure it out, Went inside came back out and it was off, guess when my phone went out of range it went off but what was odd was when i turned off bluetooth on my phone or on the car's display, it wouldnt turn off.
I also did same steps and checked for updates and it says there is an update available but when i go to click on it (also grayed out on mine), the messages says go to the dealer as it is not able to update....makes no sense and im not going to the stealership.
It then was working on and off ok last 10 days and all of a sudden as of yesterday it is now no longer connecting automatically like it should when i enter the car...i have to manually connect via phone bluetooth screen...so many little crappy issues on the C8 that is annoying...this is probably my last corvette....dealers are all crooks around here too so i think im done lol.

It makes plenty of sense. Your car needs an update but not all updates can be done over-the-air and in this case requires a visit to the dealer.

I have more experience since I do some work myself and stuff requiring a dealer goes to the dealer. Last year an update was dealer-only and took over 5 hours to install. It was probably a VWP [Vehicle Wide Programming] which is extensive and requires time and bandwidth.

Last month i went in for my 7500 miles filter and oil change done and those gd crooks never changed the oil....called them out with proof and still took 2 more visits to make it right and no apologies. Second vette with no previous issues like this especially with ota updates, why should i have to go to the dealer to get an ota aoftware update done....im done with my local dealer and c8 issues that are minor but annoying as hell in a 105k msrp car i bought.

Sorry to hear that you have had such a negative experience at your dealer. I can understand your frustration.

I never got an update message. I'll try the info reboot and if that doesn't work I guess it goes to the dealer.

Not disputing at all - how were you able to prove they didn't change the oil? This can be useful for all of us.
I had a similar issue my TT Stinger, I took it in for an alignment which they never did. First clue was they handed me the results from an Altima which I didn't notice until I get home. Next clue was I was experimenting with the Stinger's 360 degree picture takiing while at the shop. I didn't pay close attention to the pictures until after realizing the gave me someone elses Altima results, and the pictures clearly show the car never made it to the alignment rack.
Later that week I went back in and proved my case and they agreed to do another alignment. This time they texted me a link to a video showing the car up on the rack getting the alignment. When I go in for oil changes, I get a text to a video showing the work being done, so it looks like they made positive changes on how they do business.
I just parked and turned off my car. The engine and DIC went off, but the infotainment screen stayed on with Android Auto and Waze still up on the screen. Is that what's you're saying is happening?

No. My phone was not connected. The radio should shut off as soon as the door opens. Even if my phone was connected it would still shut off. Now I have to manually power off the radio by pressing the button.

Exact same scenario on Saturday.
Drove the car Thursday, parked all day Friday, went out Saturday for a Toys for Tots event.
When parked, the message appeared, did not do the update at that time, radio stayed on for about 2 minutes.
Got home, did the update, radio now shuts off when door is opened.

Yep been that way since over the air updates started with my two C7s, 2020 C8 and now my E-Ray. It's an indicator that there is a software update ready to be installed. The new issue was after the software update was started, I left and closed the door the sound system played. It gives no reason but says that can happen for up to 5 minutes.
Yes this started happening 2 days ago. I tired everything such as driving the car for an hour to ensure sufficient battery charge, soft reset, letting the car sleep and trying again and nothing works. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer for Monday. I really didn't want to take it in but no solution so far.

Did you check in your menu to see if there were any pending updates? The causal condition most often reported for this symptom is an OTA update that has been downloaded to the car and is ready to be installed.
The option to check or install is greyed out. I saw the option to install last night but then the message came of that the update failed and not it won't even allow me to check or install again. A message come up to try again when the vehicle is parked and if the problem persists to contact dealer.
