Winter Project "C8 Frunk" - Complete!
(of course I do). This is my 100% Custom made, Frunk Insert Cover for my C8.
The process was as follows:
1.) Get a custom made Frunk Cover from Chris Frech over at Deadbrand Designs . Chris was super to work with, and we went back and forth a number of times getting the cover design to be exactly what I wanted and to accomodate the screen/speakers/switch.
2.) Purchase a 10.1" Android Screen (Amazon)
3.) Purchase 6" Marine Speakers with 1,000,000 color LED's & Remote (Amazon)
4.) Over a period of a month, meticously cut out the frunk cover to allow for the screen/speakers/switch
5.) Install them all, using custom made 3d printed brackets & a custom box for all the wiring
6.) Light it up ! Works with any DC power supply (1 Cigarette Lighter plug) .. I chose an "Anker Solix" for a variety of reasons ... But this will play Videos via USB/Netflix/YouTube/Android Auto/etc for 14+ hours straight, while not being connected to my car at all ! It sounds incredible also.
Not going to lie, it was a TON of work ... I'm excited to get out to the shows this summer and "show" it off now. It truly is unique.

But almost all car shows I go to can't play music. The Sponsoring Club usually is playing music thru their own speakers. BUT went to a show where they also had a Sound-Off. There was a custom Chevy S-10 Pick-Up with the bed filled with huge Subwoofers, banks of 2 Farad capacitors, other speakers and amps. Fellow had cut a opening from the bed to cabin. Bed was covered with 1" thick Lexan. Since for safety, we used Lexan for welding regulator gauges knew even thin Lexan was expensive. Asked why Lexan? He said he first use thick clear Acrylic but the Sound Waves Cracked it! If you sat in the cab when playing your ears would bleed.
I built my ProSteet Rod in 2000 with a set back 8.2 Liter engine to get as much weight of the 3000 lb car on the rear 16.5 section width Mickey Thompson's (420 metric, got 53%.) Between the tubs and set back engine & two bucket seats no room for a back seat. Needed something so built a "Sound Wall" to fill the rear. The interior company finished to look great. BUT not allowed to play at Shows. When driving, the long tube headers and 3" pipes with straight thru Borla mufflers are such a great sound, seldom play music!

What did you use to cut the opening? Clearly the material is rigged enough to hold the weight.
As for rigged enough, absolutely yes. The materials used by Chris at Deadbrands can easily hold the weight. While it is lightweight, it is incredibly strong.
