Default Software Update Question

Received this update on my '25 Stingray: 85759705.mnf SIHM23B-00383.01 a few days ago. Recently had the battery replaced under warranty. No issues with the car, just curious what it was for.

Default Still There

The update is downloaded to your car without you knowing it has been done. Done in the background using the car's native LTE. Only then do you get the notice that you can install it. It will remain active for 30 ignition cycles (on/off), then it will be deleted from the car's memory. The descriptions are usually vague including targeting issues described using 'various' and 'misc'. Depending on how long it has been, the update might still be installable.

From the info screen: Home>Settings>System>Vehicle Software>Updates

This will display both installed and pending updates. Caveat, this is for my 2022. I'd guess 2025 is similar certainly enough so to get headed to the general vicinity.

At least on 2020-2023 and maybe beyond, there is a setting in the menu to allow or dis-allow downloading of the update in the background. If you disable that, then you will also get a notice that an update is ready for downloading (not be confused with installing). I have mine set to allow it - and it will download via the built in 4G and/or your home internet enabled WiFi if you have allowed the car to connect to that when it is "home". I have.

Using the System>Vehicle Software>Updates on my '25, it showed up under "Previous Updates" so I am thinking it's installed. I'm just curious as to what the update was for.

I hope it addresses the radio cutting out repeatedly for the first 5-10 minutes of a drive! Haven't seen any update messages on my 2025 so far though.

Wow, I never had that problem with the radio. Still have no answer what it addresses. Chevrolet Customer Care says they don't have access to the info.

The update will download using the car's LTE. It does not require Wi Fi. It just happens poof it's there. Car says I've got it onboard and ready to install. Then you choose to install now, later, or not at all.

Great Post. My 2023 Z51 is a certified Garage Queen (others cars keep her blocked in). I took her for a Cruz and noticed when I open the door and closed it … the Horn Sounded. When I returned home and sitting in the driveway, I went to the vehicle setup screen and changed the setting. Not sure how this setting was changed, my thinking is it was from a software update?
