Just took delivery two weeks ago on 2023 SR with 6500 miles. Schedule service for filter and refill since it was right at 3 years old in February. They brought the car out to me but the trans fluid still read 56%. They sent tech out to reset, it was not reset because he didn’t change the fluid that I just paid for. Waited 2 more hours while they did this.
does anyone know of an app that will track services performed along with the mileage/date other than having it transmitted through carfax. The tech was like why change the fluid, because it’s three years old. I don’t think the service departments quite understand the services on transmissions. Of coarse I was just a month out on free replacement of the filter. The first dealership gave me a quote but with only 10 quarts which made me worry since mine holds 12.
We have all been puzzled about the miles/time fluid life information. The key here is 3 years, not miles. I have seen a 2023 C8 with 3K miles that had to get the transmission serviced. The concern is keeping transmission warranty in effect especially if the car has an extended warranty. The one-year, regardless of miles oil change requirement is another pet peeve I have.
It amazes me how poor the service training is for Chevy's flagship car.
And, it also amazes me the people who spend 70 to 250 grand on a new Corvette and never even look at the owner's manual.
If you're not looking for an app that gives you a reminder when your services are due you can log your maintenance in in your Chevrolet account on the website (and perhaps the app).
Mine held less than 10 liters when it was changed. Yours holds 12 when dry, but you can't drain that much out once it has been filled. 9-1/2 is about right.
