GM has gone mad with all of these versions of the C8. My head is spinning. Stingray, Stingray Z51, Z06, Eray, ZR1, ZR1 Quail Edition, and soon a GSX, any in HTC or Coupe. Did I miss any versions? Isn't this counterproductive at this point in terms of resale values or is this GMs marketing strategy at work? I feel llike they've made people go nuts trying to "keep up with the Jones'." Everytime I'm reading threads we now have people arguing with each other over has the better, best, bestest C8...
It’s really not that complicated. You have a base stingray, soon to be grand sport, Z06 and ZR1. The Z51 is an option not a model and while the “x” is part of the badge is is basically just a hybrid of an existing model. Grand Sport X is replacing the Eray so that really isn’t 2 unique models either. Ultimately you have 4 models with different options available; aside from the hybrid options this has been the corvette lineup since the C6.
Its pretty much the same versions as always with the addition of the X which will soon go across 3 variants I think eventually. Not sure why everyone is arguing. Maybe some people cant be happy with what they have and want to insist that "No one will need more than X power (what ever varient they bought) on the street because no one goes to the track blah blah blan.
Its pretty simple. The ZR1 and ZR1/X are kings of the c8 lineup and there will always be posts about X's car is better because of X. LOL. Is great entertainment. Just sit back read and laugh.

Theyre following the Volkswagen Porsche business playbook. Just hope it doesnt end as badly as its been going for them these days, with $1 Billion in losses.

Why would anyone be upset about having more versions of something that they love?
If you are having that much trouble processing it, pick your favorite AI platform, prompt it with whay you are looking for in a corvette and let it tell you which one fits your needs the best.

I couldn’t agree with you more.
It isn’t about deciding which one to buy. It’s about keeping up with the pecking order. If enthusiasts have to stop and think about what’s what, there’s too much stuff crammed in to the model line.

Personally, I like that they are making so many options available...all the better to get closer to what I want at the level that I can afford. To your last point, though...I've noticed this too. I was mostly away from the Forum the last few years once I got my current C8 dialed-in, but started coming around again for Grand Sport news, and I've been surprised seeing all of the arguing over the different versions. Guess I've always been the type to be excited for the Vettes I'm fortunate to have in my garage, but I still admire and drool over the Vettes that sit higher in the pecking order and respect those able to own them!
Maybe the angst was around before and I just hadn't noticed, but I really don't remember seeing so much animosity around the Forum before.

Doesn't Porsche have something like 16 versions of the 911?
