Most mid-engine supercars necessarily have some similarities in general shape, but Mclarens are consistently the ugliest of the bunch. I don't need any Corvette to look "more like a (insert overpriced Euro car here)". It just needs to be it's own design, like now...only (please!) prettier. YMMV...

This will do nicely!
Nicely done..... now we just need the wide body version. The back end looks bad ***. On the C8 and this "C9", the boomerang just never looked as good as the wide body wishbone IMHO.

I love it and HOPE that it's in the ballpark. It's what I've wanted for the C8 - a mild incremental change with more continuity and smooth flow, and fewer disjointed angles. Yes I love my C8, but this is better.
That said, the way the bottom edge on the door is cut makes me doubt it... it would make ingress/egress difficult enough to make the C4's sills look mild. Also I don't see where the trunk / engine bay could open/close, a seam behind the glass on the door, or where the headlights (or at minimum turn signals) would be.
Call me crazy but I think it’ll be revealed in 2 yrs as a ‘29MY with a slight hp bump
I think it'll depend on how steady sales remain for the c8. Chevy has run the GS for 3-4 MYs in the past two generations and I see no reason for them not to do the same here. A full decade for the c8 would be a great run.

Yea, that door outline doesn't look like it is targeting the typical Corvette buyer.
I’ll have to go against the grain on this image. The aggressiveness is gone. I’m just not a big fan of the more humdrum design. Still, I doubt this is what a C9 will look like. It’s going to be fun to see what the C9 really turns out to be.
All the early leaks are usually throw aways, but they do let us in to see what has been happening in the background. However, I do have a suspicion that the c9 may break even further away from what some people may call corvette loyalists. The c8 is bold and beautiful and there is no reason to stop the progression now. There is a new team of Engineers on the c9, so we really dont know what to expect. Its really an exciting time as corvette has been releasing some really nice looking concept cars. Cadillac is in F1 and I think since part of that team moved to corvette we are seeing some changes make their way in an more to come.
This concept is the closest I've seen to what a real production C9 would look like. Its A-pillar and roofline look identical to the C8's with overall body proportions that match. If it will be an evolution of the C8 as mentioned, then it will share the C8's underlying chassis.
And highly stylized/exaggerated design cues from last year's official CX Concept look toned down and grafted over the C8/C9 chassis for a direct fit to its hardpoints for production.
The dramatic proportions of the CX on top make the bottom look like a basic C8 in contrast. I've been following the official @chevrolet, @corvette, and @generalmotorsdesign Instagram accounts for years. This looks like what they'd typically post and wouldn't be the first time I've seen their post magically disappear.
