I would be happy for that to become the initial basis for ME’s logo for several reasons:

1) Has continuity with its crossed flags, its Chevy Corvette emblem history;
2) Feels very nicely distinctive in a powerful way (a knight’s shield)
3) Different enough to reflect the major ME change in direction;
4) Is readily cleanable (no interior edges/opening which catch crap).

However, using that as a “basis,” I would prefer for it to be a little revised to make it better:

1) Remove the crossed flag’s “legs” of the emblem (too much C5 repetition);
2) Make the interior consequently more like a “V”, if fact make the interior damn identical to CRABBYJ’s earlier suggestion.

RaginBull, any chance you could re-render your great idea with my two suggestions please?

Default Spec-driven design

My professional field. Start with the specifications for the design. What does it have to communicate? Heritage? Future? Combo of both? Modification? Clean sheet? Color pallette? Corporate component? Etc...

These are just some of the considerations (specifications) the decision makers sign off on before you give it to the professional designers and get out of their way. At least, that's the way it should work.

Absolute Formula for Failure Every Time: "Design by Committee..."

My favorite would be an updated take on this:

I like the historic look too! And the smaller the better! It'll keep heads turning to see what it is.

What about a little of each from me, a ‘committee of one’. But, not quite as these versions incorporate some very good ideas from this thread. Just add a silver surround ring like the one above. Let’s be proud of the Chevrolet name and show it.

Edit: And no bigger than about 2” x 3”.

Maybe more simple is better with choices of surround color.

My favorite, see new Avatar <<<<<<< The plain ‘V’ is good too! Both smaller at about 2” x 2” or 2” x 3”

EDIT: Today I removed my posts referencing the Pontiac Fiero (aka Fireo) to clean up this thread. CRABBYJ

Some of the spy photos indicate a circular logo on the nose. Likely the V above with a 1980s-90s style circle around it.

Thank you CRABBYJ! My two favorite ME logos are yours.

I do hope however, that GM offers your second logo (pictured below) also in a “dark theme” — just like we currently have dark and light emblem choices.

Can you or anyone please photoshop a dark version?

I have to admit, this forum is very good at coming up with things to talk about when there is nothing left to talk about.

Maybe we'll be all pissed off with frustration to appreciate the car when the stupid thing finally gets here. Probably not.

We could discuss the weather (another subject we can do nothing about), but maybe that would make the time go faster until a certain magic day when we get megabytes of Corvette news. And between now and then, we will have ME in the wild pics, teaser vids and more to cogitate about.

And maybe in the interim we could have some more polls for those interested? How about one on what color(s) will the reveal ME’s be?
