2019 c7 (0w-40)
2020-21-22 c7 ? (redesigned floor mats, New colors, taller spoiler. faster power windows). ??

No offence but GM needs to kill the off the c7 soon. They need to get something out there new with the A10 ASAP.
I agree sales of the C7 went down in January. I think they will keep going down

I don't think c7 front engine model will actually be sold alongside the c8...

That's a bullish t rumor designed to try and limit the sales drop of an old model as the new model is releasing....

Traditionally discounts are huge to move the last year of a model...

So far I think we are peaking at 22 percent off plus and extra 3 grand off for presently owning a corvette...

Could it reach up even further as the final year production comes to a close..

2019 could be the last year of the front engine corvette?

If they churn out 2019 corvette models like a bet out of hell...the discounts to lure buyers could be HUGE!

ZR1 being the exception...of course..

I think the 2019 model year will be a long long run...starting January 28th 2018 to possibly the end of calendar year 2019....or at least the fourth quarter...

30 percent off and 3 grand loyalty would you slip up..take home a 2019 grand sport or z06 to tide you over for a few years while c8 demand is struggling to be met..,

I bet the lease deals will be insane as well...

That would be an interesting strategy -- full line of C8s with high-end C7's for those who want them.

I almost wonder if their best strategy would be the opposite. Start out with a realitively exclusive C8 with outrageous profit margins made off "must have" consumers. Get the accountants to sharpen their pencils so they can eliminate the now fully-amortized development and tooling costs into their profit calcs for the C7 (thus allowing materially reduced prices and perhaps a re-ignition of C7 demand). Let unmet demand for the "affordable" C8 build in the marketplace. Race C8's in GTLM; C7's as very lightly subsidized "customer cars" in GTD, and see where that all leads them. Porsche manages 718's and 911's simultaneously so we know it can be done. Would be FUN from my perspective regardless of the market viability!

Could this maximize sales and profits for the next few years? Or, could it be a disaster? Any marketing experts like to debate the proposition?

if they want front engine car sales to stay reasonably strong, they'll have to introduce new styling, like ferrari does on their front engine models. or with an suv, lol.

humm.. maybe thats what they mean.. stingray and maybe GS falls off in 2020 but Z06 and new ME(NA) run side by side then a year or 2 and then a ME z08 800+hp comes out... without a buttress.. =-)

Remember the “old days” when in the last year or two or three of a generation, GM refreshed our Corvettes with a new front and/or rear fascia (going back as we know to the late C1’s).

Would not surprise me if for 2020 (and 2021) to keep the C7 sales going, we have a brand new front and rear fascia.

I agree, the new ZR1 front fascia will be mated to the rest of the models. Of course, the ZR1 owners won't be happy, but that's little concern to GM. They can buy the latest and greatest C8.

Hey GM paid off the tooling for the c7 over time....

Let's have a value priced c7 grand sport 1LT for a new price of 50 grand while the mid rear engine model goes for 62 grand and above...

Hell you can buy a 1LT or LZ grand sport for 54 grand now....so if unit volume matters....

Just offer a c7 grand sport for $49999..make it in the four most popular colors and only a black interior...

Kidding but it makes more sense than leaving the zr1 at 120 to 140 grand...as the new c8 releases which would outperform the upcoming standard c8 with a suggested 500 hp LT1 derivative...and it would put a damper on the latest and greatest next generation corvette...halo effect for the brand...
