I was at the dealer yesterday and was told they will offer both body styles for a few years with expectations the ME will be a high-end model most likely well over $100K. We shall see.

I'm fairly certain the dealers don't have any sort of insider information around pricing yet.

If the dealer told you that then you can just about guarantee it was incorrect info. No dealer knows anymore about this car than we do, I'd say most of us on here know more than your typical dealers does. Look at the ZR1 that just released, no one had any idea of the exact price or specs on the car until it was released. Not even the dealers. The same will be true with this.
That salesperson is trolling for future customers, trying to build his waiting list now. Interesting that the listing does not state for Canadian customers only. Of course, it has lots of weasel words that do not guarantee much for the buyer, i.e., he is offering a product he does not even own — so buyer beware.
And his dealership is not a supporting vendor of the forum.

his ad is on craigslist, posted for Vancouver, Canada. He is doing nothing wrong. the ad was copy/pasted on this site by someone who is a member of this site, not the salesman.
i called his number to check the authenticity to clear up the bs that so often comes with members' comments on these types of posts. nobody was looking for free advertising; he didn't even know this site exists.

You are actually defending this ad?
Even if the ad is “real” my snarky comment is much more legitimate than the ad...

I posted just out of curiosity heck I don't even own a corvette, have when I was younger. I was fairly sure ad came from Dueck or some one was pulling our chain. Obviously they want pre-orders..just bussiness.
GM indicated through leaks several years ago the C8 would run concurrently with a C7 model for a couple of years. Supposedly the C7 model will be the ZR1. I suspect the C8 offerings will be similar to the C7 when it started its run with a little bit of an inflation boost off from the previous versions models.
Production costs of most cars are about the same. It costs the same amount of money to make a high end truck as it does to make a low end econo car. The ME will be the same way. The only difference will be where the engine comes up under the body at the marriage point.
They will want production to ramp up quickly and the best way to do that is to build cars that will sell to more Customers.
If they went the opposite way and sold regular C7s and a high end option C8 they would never get production off the ground. A high price would guarantee low production that might kill the product. Once the car is in production nobody is going to want to purchase the C7 low end models so why make them? People wouldn't purchase the C7s as they are yesterday's news and the C8 would be too expensive.
They're attempting to sell their allocation. But they don't even know if they'll get an allocation; just jumping on the buzz train. . .
If they get the car, they just sold it at MSRP which still put's plenty of money in their pockets. . .
If they don't, buyer took all the risk, they just made years of interest on your deposit. . .
Plenty of forum members who were strung along by greedy dealers selling cars they never received an allocation for; that's why it's best to go through the forum sponsors or dealers that have their proverbial **** together. . .ie ones that don't sell corvettes on craigslist.

Never been in the rain, all service records, original owner is member of Nigerian royalty. Can’t go wrong there...
I love it when ANYBODY says NEVER BEEN IN THE RAIN. Unless that car was wrapped in bubble wrap it's a good bet that it rained at the factory, on the train on the truck and on the dealer lot unless it was NEVER outside. NOT all dealers have the capability to keep them inside like some larger dealers say they do
