That was easy, next question.

I am not planning on a pre order, just because there is no good information on models, prices etc. I feel I can wait and when I have seen what is available, go to my dealer, who has sold me 3 Corvettes and 3 Tahoes, and negotiate a good deal. If the car is so popular that no deals are available, then I can decide how bad I want it, and order….. or wait.

Question was debated at length here for those who want to see “both sides of this aisle.” Very interesting perspective on both perspectives...

If you want to get your C8 before spring of 2020 you better order now. Once it is announced at NAIAS in Jan you won't get it till spring/summer 2020 just before 2021's come out. A lot of dealers will put you on their waiting list and put in the order to GM but won't get allocation from GM unless they sold a lot of C7's. I recall a lot of delays due to supplier shortages of some options as well. Some were delayed 9-12 months. Mine was delayed 6 months and so I cancelled and bought one out of the showroom.

I personally wouldnt order the first batch of 2020 C8 Vettes. Because their will be a lot of issues and recalls. Just look at the 2014 and the minor issues they ran into.

The C8 is totally a new design, where Chevy is literally a puppy when it comes to mid engines cars. Where Lambo, Ferrari, and Porsche have been doing this for so long.

I am not saying it isnt not going to be an amazing car, in fact I love the new C8..I'd rather wait a bit and see what happens.

I really believe that to get one the first year you will be paying ten to twenty thousand over window sticker. I’m in line but expect to pay a premium.

How can you pre-order? We don't even really know what is going to look like yet or options, colors, or what dealers will get, or when it'll be for sale. Just what we think we see and a bunch of "it'll be like this" or "I want this on it" BUT I guess you could go to a dealer and say 'I want a mid engine CORVETTE as soon as I can get one and here's a check to guarantee my chances'

How do you know Z06 will even be a model or a Z51 or a Z07 or any name we already know?

i dont think they will call it a Z06 anymore. The new C8 is supposed to be called the Zora. Along side this, they will continue to sell the C7.

It’s not actually pre-ordering now. It’s having a relationship with a dealer, the dealer principal if possible. And in lots small towns around the country it happens all the time. You hunt, fish, golf, church or whatever with the owners. It gets you in line. And even though you are friends they are also in business to make as much as they can. I don’t know what I’ll pay for the first one available to him, but it will be what ever the going price is. But I’ll get to spec it. When the ZL1 camaro came out they were bringing over msrp. I just waited and now getting a 2019 to mod for a discount. The first mid engine cars will bring a premium Over msrp I don’t care how equipped or color.

Top forum dealers, such as MacMulkin, Criswell and Kerbeck, never charged a penny over sticker for the entire C7 genration, including the special editions of which an average 500 were made, including the first months of ordering the Stingray, then the Z06, the Grand Sport, and lastly the only 192/month manufactured ZR1’s. Some other dealers similarly did the honorable thing.

Since at least 25,000 ME’s are going to be made for the 2020 model year — and maybe thousands and thousands more than that, so check the facts, the history for those above name dealerships, those dealership’s integrity, their history of their only charging sticker, and that information leads to your being totally wrong.

However, in this case, being wrong will make you very happy.

The ME will sell for sticker at every dealer who treats his/her customers correctly.

Exception, someone late to the party, goes to a non-scrupulous dealer two weeks after the first one’s have arrived, and demand to get theirs immediately, will pay +$10,000 over sticker, maybe even $25,000 over.

Last of prior proper planning by a ME purchaser resulting in them paying over sticker, is their own stupidity.

Anyone who is considering a smaller or a local dealer or even a medium sized dealership for their ME purchase, needs to find out that dealership’s exact charging history for all the examples I cited above, and act smartly by walking away as pricing dictates.

i need to see what the vert version will look like and colors...might just keep my c6 vert and get the
c8 coupe which will most likely be my last Corvette

no deposit until i can actually see and sit in one...we all know a first year model has some issues and that the-must-have-first folks will insure they ALL go for sticker.

excited to see and experience C8-hope it doesn't cause a heart attack!

I'm hesitant to order a first year model plus I don't feel I need to be the first one in town with one in my garage

100% correct. NEVER buy a first-year complete remodel. Especially something as radically different than it's predecessor as this. Now, if you're one of those guys who buys the first year remodel, then trades in and buys the improved second year - this doesn't apply to you.

Why would you ask the question if you already had your answer?

That is unless you made this video and just wanted to try and get some extra clicks.
