yep. it it is another one of mine.

C7 pimp never said anything about the actual lighting elements. He only described the outer shape which I followed and can be seen on the latest spy images.

That is firstvettesoon rendering, the same sharp fellow who did all the other sensible renderings and he is in direct contact with C7pimp. I believe we will get a camaro like effect on this one.

Came from somewhere before Corvetteblogger, as noted on the CB link in the OP’s post.

Thanks Implied Consent.

Hmmm.... Do I detect a bit of a theme here dating back to the 2009 concept. In part anyway. It’s been done before with the C7 front fenders.

I appreciate your efforts! You do a great job coming up with these renders -- not sure how you do it, but it's awesome.

I was referring to a picture C7P put together (below), but I can't find the post he made where he mentioned that the tail lights follow the shape he drew over the CAD image. I remember someone (maybe even me?) asking if the actual light was shaped like a C7, and he said no, it was shaped just like the shape of the housing (below).

Pimp was referring to the concave horizontal “V” shape the overall fixture has as well as the bulging angular lamp shape from the side as I have rendered. You can see the black lines C7p drew on the CAD.

In the CAD, you can clearly see two distinct spaces for lighting elements... much like the two (per side) lamp
elements on the C7 and as I depicted. Whether these are rectangles or U shape or arrow shaped LED lamp assemblies... we do not know yet and from the cad we can not tell

Pimp never described the actual “lighting” elements. For this we must wait.

Hopefully they will will not be as seen on the miles... the cheap looking arrow designs. And I know they will not be. Or better not be. ; )

Yes good ideas do. But when they are so unique (in regards to design elements) they seldom happen back to back, such as carried forward from the C7 to what is suspected to be either/both a C7.5/C8 FE/ME, or whatever. The 2009 Corvette design is a case in point where at least the flats on top of the front fenders were incorporated into the C7. Other design elements from the 2009 Concept? I did look for them. What I conveyed in my above post was it may have happened again using the 2009 Concept as we look at the rear of what has been illustrated by FVS from Camo pics, but not confirmed. I hope you’re depiction of the ME rear is right because that particular detail would look great IMO.

I will state it again here as I did elsewhere on CF. With the C7 design is such a unique design I seriously think not one element of its exterior will be carried forward to GM ‘Future Product’, at least not in the short run. However, the C3 may have and may also have from the 2009 Concept too. Keep an eye out for other design cues that may be posted on the wall in the background.

You are correct. The main shape of the tail lights fills the entire space, not half the space like the renders commonly show. Just like the C7 and the Camaro. I think those renders look great honestly, but that's not how it is.

I did a drawing about 6 months ago, let's see if I can find it. It was a crude mock up but gav ethe general idea.

Edit: Here's the discussion about it: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1596705690&postcount=583

I had completely forgotten about this until you mentioned it, but ya.

The camaro tail lights are a decent representation of the how it takes up the space. different aesthetics, but the "feel" is similar.

I really love what FVS has done with the front, side and 3/4 front view of his renderings but, I have to say, I’m not as excited about the rear view. I know, it’s just a rendering but the proportions, IMHO, appear awkward. I think the basics, from what we’ve seen, especially on what is believed to the the C8-R mule, are there. As with the C7 concept renderings, the final production version was much better. Panel contours and deco trim do wonders. I’m hoping that will soften the vents on each corner below the taillights. As they have been rendered and on the few “peek-a-boo” shots we have seen, thus far, they really don’t blend with the otherwise beautiful design. Again, IMHO

i think that flat triangular piece with the V notch will be backlit with LEDs so a separate side light will not be required.

Here are some details and ideas to mull over for the tail lights.

You can get an idea of what the ME tail lights "could" be like from the Camaro example as suggested above. Note the actual LED elements and lighted areas when on and off.

Curious to hear thoughts...
