You do realize that looks can be deceiving - that NSX trunk is 4.4 cu.ft. - the C7 convertible is 10 cu.ft, or over 2x as large and the C7 coupe is almost 4x as large.

While not the cheapest option when we travel we FedEx our stuff if we are going for a while.

Put in a small bag with overnights and enough clothes to get us to our destination. We fedex the rest to the hotel, then send it back home.

We like driving with the roof off and this accomplishes that without having to skimp on what we bring.

In other words I love having the amount of storage that the C7 offers. It's one of the reasons I never wanted a convertible. With the C8 I would think that the engine is going to take up all the rear storage space and then I read that under the front hood will house lots of cooling exchanges. Does anyone have the skinny on storage in the new C8?

The only other concern is that having the engine in the rear might introduce more heat and noise in the cockpit. Is this correct?
You are correct sir!

THe c5, c6 and c7 targas have quite a lot of noise generated with the targa, the hallow rear hatch back especially with the roof off..

a lot of guys are forgetting that packing up the rear hatch above the window line you get larger space but do block rear vision.

figure the luggage in the current corvettes without blocking vision out the rear window and you ll have an idea of total storage space in the c8.

engines behind the driver can be exhilarating in sound unless of course its a crappy sounding engine to start with.

i dont think we will find that to be the case with the rear mid engine corvette..

I used to take 3 week business trips to Asia with one carry-on suit case. I'm sure the amount of storage will be sufficient for me.

If someone is complaining about the lake of space for 2 sets of golf clubs, I have no sympathy. They should drive their Escalade or Tahoe to the golf club instead. Its just going to sit in the parking lot anyway.

I'll trust that the GM designers took the C8's target market into consideration and allowed for plenty of storage front and rear to keep everyone happy. Taking away any functionality would surely adversely impact their market share. While the Corvette is quite capable on the track or drag strip, most buyers will not be using them in that fashion. GM knows this. So form and "function" must go hand in glove for the car to financially survive. Cannot imagine the C8 coming w/ the practicality of the Alfa C4.

Those concerned about its storage space, will be pleasantly surprised.

Those concerned about its looks, will be pleasantly surprised.

Those concerned about its price, will be pleasantly surprised.

Those concerned about its maintenance/repairability, will be pleasantly surprised.

Ninety-nine percent of the time when I'm driving any car I'm by myself & the only thing I carry is my wallet & phone. If it has enough room for those two items it will be roomy enough for me. Lol

I'm sure it will end up having enough storage space for a sports cars. Most people have an SUV and/or truck for the days they need more room. Even if it ends up with a lot less storage capacity than previous generations I don't think it will be much of an issue for most people.

Will current C7 ZR1 owners be 'pleasantly' surprised?
