I hate the electric door handles in my C7. My driver side one often doesn't release all the way. I've replaced the touch pad door-side part and lubed the jamb side "popper" only other option is to replace the popper which requires taking the interior trim out. Passenger side, which gets used far less, works fine. Much prefer the simple mechanical handle on my C5 as well as the non-indexing windows.

Why make things simple and cheaper when they can make them complicated and costly?
I don't remember any electric door buttons of the "Leaked", lol, key fob, just unlock. Seems if GM was going through all this trouble over doors (have't they worked just fine since like the model A?) that are power assisted they would have a button to open the door as you approach. IDK, sounds like a lousy idea to me, but then again I'm not really all that into gadgets anyway.
These videos are all complete garbage. They all say the same thing and simply copy the info that comes up on this forum. Dont waste your time watching this unoriginal crap.
I read the first part of the article. Someone who is against all this technology, power consumption, complexity would probably ask just how much software and added weight to keep the door from opening too far or too fast in/on a gusty-wind day. Not to mention, keeping car doors from hitting people, other car doors, or opening into traffic, etc. Yeh, that would be a strong motor with a lot of resistance especially since this "weighty" door will be the equivalent of a "sail cloth" when it opens. Just like every car door is a "sail cloth" as it opens. But this will be for the Mid Engine, no slouch car here!
