To the people crying and moaning about the quality of the leather (and that the cabin is full of leather), go out and get yourself a Camaro or buy a used C6. This is Chevy's HALO CAR, and should always be at the top of the heap, not filled with cheap materials for a bargain basement price.
Which, of course, completely alters a market strategy that has worked extremely well for >60 years. Now, if they can build in enough profit/unit, that may well be optimal.
But, I think think it would also resurrect two somewhat related areas of debate in here: (1) what else gets built at BG? and (2) is there possibly a continuing FE Vette strategy as well? Hard to sell a lot of $60-$80K Camaros no matter how good they actually are. And I would think a C8 starting at $80K would see sales peak at maybe 20K in year 2 and rapidly thereafter top out at 10K units. Again, double the unit profit and that could still be a home run!

2. The picture taker took pains to blur out the background...why?
Anytime I take pictures that involve anything I work on (scenic view out the window, driving a RHD over an iconic bridge, etc) in prototype cars, I generally take care to obfuscate any identifying marks if there is any chance the general public will see them. Even if it is allowable and the cars are off camo and released and all (which they all are, I don't take pics around anything security), I still don't want something I post with any identifying marks on it. Even spy photographers are generally nice enough to blur identifying marks and our faces.
Either this person wasn't authorized to take pics, and wanted to make it as hard as possible to figure out who it was to avoid immediate termination (my thoughts, especially considering the very narrow field of view), or the parts blurred are just unseemly or the background showed stuff we can't see (test equipment, 3D printed parts, non production components, uncovered other cars).
He’s pulling a littlest hobo on us...
Does the good deed...and doesn’t want the praises.
Well it been since the 4th that he made a post, that interior does look alot like his sketch. Couldn't have been that many people that had seen the actual car. He dropped the thread about Detroit show and not much of a peep since.
I was one of those who questioned Zerv02's credibility. Sorry Zerv02, I was wrong, and you're obviously right about having seen the interior.
What we can see in the photos looks fantastic for a GM product. Even most of the switchgear looks high end, though I suppose the steering wheel controls are there to remind buyers they're driving a Chevy.
To those who are saying this interior looks really expensive, um, no, it looks like the interior of a car with a $65K base price, though likely the top trim level. You guys are so used to GM products that you've grown conditioned to cheap de-contented interiors created by reject designers who can't get a job anywhere else.
Now to see if the instrument cluster is any good. Hopefully it takes after the center console and not the steering wheel switches.
Not true. The 3LT GT seats have Napa leather seating surfaces. I have had 2 3LT C7's ( one with the comp seats and one with the GT seats).
The C7 generation has no Napa leather on any seat. Only touchable locations like the top of the door sides, Dash top surface, Etc. Go back and look at your seats. You will see the consistant stiple surface which is the Mulan bonded overlay. That bonded overlay can hide any leather imperfections, where Napa has no imperfections and is a completely smooth and soft touch surface.
The $169,900 price only makes sense if GM's thinking is that since Ford is easily selling out the GT at $400K+, they decided that they will build a much lower number of cars and sell for a higher price/margin.
Ford added another 350 units to their production run, bringing it to 1350 units, so far. That is if they don't add another production run as they are selling like hot cakes.
If the ME Vette starts at $169k, let's assume with minimum options added, it averages around $180K per car. That's less than half the price of the GT and I bet the ME Vette will blow the GT out of the water in performance. So this would be an exotic performance bargain and I think they would have no problem selling 25,000 units during the life of the generation.
25000 x 180k = $4,500,000,000. In other words, that's is a very nice return of investment.
Just thinking out loud of the possibilities here. My hope is still that it starts at around $70k.

Name just one vehicle starting at $180K that sold 25,000 units annually.
Wow, some folks who were total ******** to Zerv appear to be headed toward a massive serving of crow. Somehow I doubt they will be quick to apologize or "self ban" as they keep demanding of him.
I hope that is not just the top of the line model interior, if they pull that off and it doesn't flex, rattle, etc then I will definitely drop the dime for one.
