How you spend that half hour on here matters, and it seems like it's spent minute by minute spewing pessimism. If you don't agree with someone, just move on and ignore them.

You've become known as a nuisance on here now, it's a corvette forum, don't be a fun sponge

Let's close this topic now, derailing the thread.

Really Zerv02, you came out here originally as a so called insider, and promoted it, and even claimed you had serious insider information, You put up several posts as though you had actual facts, all of which were miserable failures/lies and got run out as a total phony and you accuse Zora_Vette as a nuisance.
REALLY, you have a lot of ***** to come back on and accuse people of being a nuisance. Most of us feel you should have been permanently banned for your lying, and so called insider posts that in the end were obvious lies...
I am actually shocked you weren't banned after your pathetic attempts of fooling this Forum.
I am normally a pretty easy going guy, but your crap a few months ago was simply inexcusable and totally pissed off this section of the Forum.

I dont think GM would use state mandated license plates as method to drop an easter egg.

I've always thought Zora and Zerv were the same person. Still do.

Maybe 490 lb-ft torque. No way it's under 500 hp, not with what I'm hearing about performance from the MPG grapevine.

Why all the hate?

Zerv02 had inside info, proved the inside info from his drawings, which immensely helped with the interest of the C8 for months! He was literally the only source of inside info besides the mule photos since November.

So some of his info was bad, projects get delayed, corporations change their minds, sh*t happens, ... Now whether he's a GM plant or not, I dont care, I love the gossip, I love the inside info - even if it doesnt turn out to be true, it's all so much fun to talk about. I much prefer Zer02's approach to Zora_Vette's 100% negativity - the ole' macho-internet-bully BS gets old real quick.

Back to the thread:

Only 490 HP? Now I'm getting sad. GM has to keep up with at least the GT350 (535 HP) - just doesn't make any sense. While I haven't been a fan of test mules, the newer C8s in camo are looking better, and if the rear quarter isn't so hideous and it has over 500 HP, I'll be trading my GS on one pretty quick.

Why are you sad? This is a dumb thread. It's just a license plate. They're not bumping ot up to 6.3 litres and it's not going to only have 490 HP. It will have at least 530

If the Easter egg means anything, I'd be sad. I think it'd be a huge mistake if it had less than the GT350. Hopefully you're right!

From another thread (will try to find it) a GM exec is on record for saying the engine will put out mid 500s.

Without an increase in displacement for a n/a high rpm engine, it's hard to see how the torque bump will materialize. Even the speculated increase from 6.16 lt to 6.3 doesn't give much room. Unless it's a complete red herring, hp is the only thing I can figure.

Dodge Hemi 6.4L engine cranks 485 hp at 6,100 rpm and 475 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,100 rpm.

490 hp for the 6.3L sounds right with a bit more rpm. Going over 500 hp causes insurance issues.

Yes, because Corvettes have never had over 500 HP before

I can see this happening. The cheapest way for GM to give you a small hp bump keeping essentially everything else unchanged/cheap is to increase stroke or bore a bit. GM always does just enough to get by, especially on base models. This will be an uninteresting base model engine then. I guess they could have done nothing but the competition upped the horsepower so it has to at least keep up with Ford and Dodge. GM's budget went towards the DOHC engine, very business like approach.

Didn't Zerva reveal the center console extension with the single line of buttons way before any images leaked? I am confused as to why no one believes him.

6162 cc is 6.162L, so if you're only going to show one decimal place, rounding 6.162 to 6.2 makes perfect sense to me.
