That was my thought as well and I started to point that out. That has to be a non-public (or at least one easy to control access to) track. The Ring, being a public road, impossible. Several tracks in the US you could pull that off, hell, even COTA for that matter.
Pretty sure this shot is of Nürburgring, and the 7:18.19 time only works for the 'Ring AFAIK.
Agree... that part is definitely the rig. The question is where was this "uncovered" taped seam car shot. All the shots we've seen on the ring are of semi-padded cars w/o taped seams.
But why do those shots of the taped seam car have to be where the 7:18.19 time is from? They've probably benchmarked the C8 at a number of tracks but the teaser video seems to be presenting a 'Ring time. Note the screen cap I made, it begins the timer with a driver's view of Nürburgring. That's a clear message.
Here's the timer at zero seconds:
And here's the timer on the 7:18.19 finish, which looks like the 'Ring to my eyes:

It doesn't have to be.... but the ring is a very fast track and aero matters so I'd figure they'd run the car with no padding and taped seams for the all out runs for time.
Not the graphic on the door... but how they setup the first teaser promo video, starts with "LET'S GO!" and a stop watch ticking with all the imagery leading up to a 7:18... the date seemed arbitrary at first, but I won't be surprised if the date was picked based on the ring time.
Eh, anything is possible I suppose. I still don't think it is intelligent to set up a marketing campaign around a lap time slower than Camaros are turning, but I'm not in marketing.
It would be foolish for Chevy to market the ME as having a 7:18 ring time IF they have not actually tested it at the Ring and run that time. Given no un-masked cars were spotted running at the Ring, the chances of them marketing it based on a camo'ed and padded is pretty low. And if the car ran that time with the camo and padding, what would it run without? Again, poor messaging IMHO.
Hell, they would catch all sorts of hell bragging about a tapped up car's time.

I am not familiar with any Camaro running a 7:01.18..?

I never said they are hinting at 7:18... In the original post I noted that the "8" could simply represent the C8 and the other numbers would equal the ring time.
Meaning that 7:01.18 is the time they are trying to hint at.
This topic is NOT about a 7:18 ring time..

Please read the first post again.. I never said 7:18 I said 7:01.19 which would put it faster then the ACRE Viper (current American record holder.)

That's even more ridiculous IMHO.
And not sure how you could see the numbers 7.18.19 and come up with 7:01.19. If that was Chevy's marketing idea, that's even dumber than saying the car ran 7:18.19 if it hasn't.
