The C8 Z06 will not have 800 horsepower.

It just wont and there is no chance of that. The previous Z06 had 650hp and you will not see an increase of 150hp between these generations. Yes you saw one between the C6Z and C7Z, but that’s because the car put on 500lbs and had to make up for that.

This new C8Z will have a better handling platform and won’t need to substitute in more power to make up for handling and weight. Expect a modest gain with an output in the low 700’s for horsepower but on the new chassis, the improvements will be immense. Then look for a ZR1 putting out around 800-820 down the line, not 1000hp.

Because remember, they still have to be able to top that product next generation. They build in increments by design, that’s why businesses like Apple make so much money.
Agreed. It’s entirely possible they will keep the z06 output between 650-700 HP just because they do not need that much more HP to achieve significant gains over the Z51. I suspect the Z51 will trap around 120-123 in the quarter mile while the Z06 may finally hit 130-135 (less power lost to wheelspin, in the drive train, and in chassis movement). Frankly a refreshed LT4 (supercharged LT2 with a 2.3L blower) would hit the target HP numbers easily but a TT DOHC V8 also sounds like a lot of fun.

I would say you are right on the money, what I am curious about is if the highest hp model will have turbos, or just a bigger supercharger like they did with the last gen, I really want turbos on a vette.
