Here are some realistic Delivery Expectations for those that are trying to figure out where they are on getting their new rides on the road. I mention this because it is always a struggle to get my salespeople to pass this along in order to set expectations correctly.
Allocations begin in Sept with December being start of production. December is a short month for the Factories. With a new vehicle, especially a complete new model they build a bunch for Quality Control Checks before release to commerce. This means the first batch most likely will not start shipping until some time in Feb. I would look to see the first Months orders spread over the end of Feb to the beginning of March. So that gives a base timeline to start with: 1st orders on the ground Feb/Mar (Sept Allocation). The Allocation guide is broken into 2 parts, 1st 3 months and then 2nd 9 months. Allocation is given in the first cycle of each month. So October and November are your next 2 allocations after Sept. Timeline will put those builds on the ground Mar/Apr and Apr/May respectively. So for your dealer that gets X Allocation over the first 3 months you can make a pretty good guess that his 1st 3 months of Allocation will hit like this: X* .25 in Feb (Shorter Production Month of Dec gives less build volume) X* .37 in Feb/Mar and Finally X* .38 in March. 2nd Round of allocation should start in January and will be for Mar/Apr on the ground and then run for the next 8 months to the end of Allocation. This is based on 20 years of GM ordering and dealing with Sold orders.
Timeline as I see it:
Allocation On The Ground
1st Round
September February
October Feb/Mar
November March
2nd Round (Expect timelines to shorten as they ramp up)
December Mar/Apr
January April
February Apr/May
March May
April May/June
May June/July
June July/Aug
July Aug/Sept
August Sept/Oct
Things that can have an affect on your delivery timing:
Distance from plant (transportation has been SLOW this year)
Weather (Obviously)
Any unforseen production issues
CONSTRAINTS!!! - This could be the biggest issue for some of you and is totally out of dealer control and usually we do not know until the week of allocation.

What I am hoping for is that they do the same as they currently do for Camaro's. That is have a separate allocation group for Convertible, this will give us a whole new round of allocations for Convertible. I see this as a good possibility as from the back of the napkin numbers i do not see them using their full production capability on what has been allocated to coupes so far.
I have had deposits at 2 local Chevy dealers since April 21, 2015.
I gave one of them to a member of our Corvette Club.

March 13, 2020 Waiting for reply for Corvette Concierge - Has order progressed to 3400?
March was the last MY 2020 allocation. It was the largest at about 37% of the ~21,000 that have been allocated for MY 2020. If MY 2020 production ends November 20 of this year, assuming they all get built, this put the March allocation builds at about the second week in October through Nov 20. Again, ramp up, more COVID, and/or supply chain is anyone’s guess.
Ordered my ZB C8 Z51 2LT on 1/17/20 still at 1100 status, next week it w/b 5 months since I put down my deposit
I’m on my 5th Corvette and I’ve never been more confused by the process. No doubt many of those posting about the whole situation are well informed but really why doesn’t GM issue a statement and tell us what is going on. Will I be 1100 one day and suddenly go to 3600 the next day? Are there 100,000 people waiting for a 2020 or what? It should be a simple process. You order a car. You wait. You hear there’s a strike so you wait. You hear the strike is over so you wait. Some cars are made and you see them on YouTube but you hear nothing about your car so you wait. Along comes a virus you’re told threatens the world. Tens of thousands of people in nursing homes die. Corvette production ceases and you wait. You hear the Corvette factory restarts and you hear new cars are being made. You don’t see any cars on the road but you wait and you wait for a transit pass out of Casablanca and you wait and wait and...........

Chaz.....the fact that your order has never been picked up (still at 1100 status) by GM means that you aren't getting a 2020. Once GM opens up the order window to dealers, they should be contacting those clients (like yourself) to give them the option to place a 2021 order or kill their order all together and refund their deposit.
