I want the red engine cover and the apparence package(lights)

i am hearing the red engine cover has a constraint and may hold up my delivery !???

What do do you suggest doing ? Order black cover ? And then try to get after ?

Build it and hope it doesnt doesn’t hold up on production long ?

It’s 6 fasteners. Just order it later when available from parts and take 10 mins and do it yourself. No need to hold up your build for the red cover

Me either, exactly. But from the order guide the Engine Appearance Package looks not to include different colors, so I assume it will be the standard black color. Then for color I’d wait and add the accessory red/silver later or paint as suggested above.

The engine cover should be easy to remove to paint to your liking.

I want this one if it is standard OEM. Then swap with added cash for an after market one painted red, etc. This should be available almost from day one after initial deliveries.

^^^^^^ After looking at the pic above I posted it looks like a spray can paint job by me at least would not turn out too well with all the nooks and crannies of that engine cover. Me, I’d leave it to an aftermarket pro.

I want the RCC sterling silver one to match my wheels, but I won't hold up my order for it.

Yes.... I'll just take the standard one and buy the silver one down the road. It's a "nice to have" not a "must have".

Default Just the Facts

There is no reasonable explanation for late availability of the red engine cover save one. It is much easier to build the first cars as close to alike as possible. Fewer part options to stage on the production line, quicker pass through, more money for GM. When the initial glut is sated, the late availability miraculously disappears which will drive new sales of those on the sidelines waiting. Then comes Z06, Grand Sport, Z51 constraints go off, etc. Drips and drabs. Smart those guys at GM.

Right, it's an aerosol spray paint with a ball inside which "rattles" when you shake the can to mix the paint. A very nice job can be done with these, under the right conditions and with a little practice.

Looking closer at the pic of what appears to be the std black engine cover note that the black C8 logo may be removable and hopefully if true there is a replacement in color, maybe even the one on the hood would work? If so, i’d Just do that replacement at least initially.
