Hideous One of the most, if not the most, overused words on car forums. Does not matter the make or model, if some one does not care for a particular feature its "Hideous". Tell us how you really feel.
Suffice to say its design is not as elegant a design as the McLaren 720.
I did a deep dive into this design recently and it blew me away. You don't see the scoops at all viewing the car broadside. You have to look at a top down view to realize there are mailslots on the doors themselves.
now I hope everyone is paying attention, because that is how you make an elegant design that still functions.

Don't want to put too many miles or risk a nick on the rapidly depreciating not a future collectible...gramps is bored and wants to wax it....for the 2nd time this week!
Yes, it's a hideous design. The car itself is almost hideous. Again, it's an American made mid engine 1st timer car. What do you expect. For $60k it works though.

Not sure why $60k means they couldn’t design an integrated scoop into the door instead of simply slapping a triangle on top of the door & calling it a day.
Overall i like the car but not that piece on the door and does that piece on the door have a function or are they just trying to 'carry thru' the design of the inlet? i would guess the air is going to be directed into the inlet without, considering it's a large opening anyway.
I don't like how the gas door cover looks when open, they should have had it recess into the body so not sticking out. Sorry couldn't resist :-) I truly get a kick out of how people react to some of the simplest stuff. I do like the Bo and Luke method of access though, that way you never have to worry about it being open.
Looks fantastic when closed. Period. Hidden door handle/release is quite cool. A lot of car doors don’t look particularly interesting when open... so what? The one concern I agree with is that one would be crazy to trust a typical valet with this car. But then, I rarely trust valets with any of our performance cars.
I have a bigger issue of where my passenger is going to put their left hand while sitting, but I'm not losing sleep over that either. The door will become 2nd nature after a few open and closings. Not a big deal.

Nothing elegant about it unless you want you car to look like a water balloon. Edges have character, rounded cars are boring looking.
