What do you think Harlan is saying if someone is asking about the convertible he is driving around? I guess they’ve confirmed the convertible, it’s just odd to have a figurehead like him driving around and denying details of it.
I wonder if the convertible is going to be "worth it". It seems like the cockpit experience in the coupe with the roof stowed, is going to be near identical to the convertible. Sure its nice to have electric motors stow the top for you, but with the extra price and weight of it all, I wonder if the convenience is going to be worth it to alot of buyers. What's the price premium going to be? $10-15K?

Not seeing much difference in the overall openness of the roof between targa and vert.
I can't see why the price would be so high. I already have a C7 convertible and the base was 56,995 added on from base C7 at 51,995. But we are just speculating on the price. I just enjoy convertibles.

Was that VIN 51EX by chance? If it is, I was in Bowling Green last week and saw a black C8 parked at my hotel VIN 50EX and the bartender at the hotel was also a staff memeber at the museum and showed me a pic of this C8 and the VIN was 51EX, How odd is that? Here are the some pics from the black C8 I took.

Exactly my thoughts too.
Then also to loose glass engine cover too?
I agree with this comment on older generations, however, with the buttresses the C8 appears to have I think many traditional vert fans are going to be disappointed in the experience. I went from C5 vert to C6 coupe and actually preferred the look of the Coupe much better than that of the vert, but the vert did deliver a much better open top experience. I just don't see that experience being anywhere near the same with the top down on the C8 vert with those huge buttresses around the driver and passenger its going to be very similar to the coupe.
I love verts. We have a Vert. But especially with the C7 coupe, and now the C8 coupe, the targa top roof opening is so broad and deep that we just don’t feel it isn’t the same as a Vert unless one turns around and looks backward. The visible engine, the minimal turbulence, and the cargo capabilities firmly now put us in the coupe crowd. But each to his own. The C8 Spyder will be quite sexy even if one cannot see the engine which would be serious icing on the Spyder cake.
Did Ferrari design this retractable top or was it designed by some after market manufacturer and sold to Ferrari?
Is this design patented by Ferrari? If it was designed and sold to Ferrari, could they sell it to Chevy to use or did Chevy design and patent their own design.?
