Why wouldn't I order from them, why would I go out of state? They could "guarantee" my C8 before Christmas and there were no constraints at all on 1LTs with Z51, FE4. Where was I getting my information from? They had "inside information" from local employees that used to work at GM Lordstown and were transferred to Bowling Green that C8s were already being built for sale to the public and the line was already up and running (this was last month !!). They could enter and lock in an order right then, just MSRP + $598 doc fees that "everybody in the state has to pay, it's the law"! Oh, and a $5000 non-refundable deposit. After listening to all the misinformation, lies and BS I finally got a number for courtesy delivery: $750 plus some other BS charges resulting in a total of $950. Needless to say they will not be getting any of my business....ever.

Vanessa at MacMulkin is supposed to be looking for a dealership near me to do courtesy delivery, but I think because of my order constraints they (MacMulkin) are putting me on the back burner and I guess I understand that. However, I prefer to have my ducks in a row early on.

So, if anyone near the Cleveland, Ohio area has done a Corvette courtesy delivery and had a good experience, please let me know the name of the dealer. Not sure why this has to be so overly complicated and shrouded in secrecy and misinformation..

I live over near Cedar Point, south by 14 miles, and ordered mine through Les Stanford in Michigan. It’s only about 1.5 hours away via turnpike. They got 690 allocations. I am like 641. No troubles nor expense with a courtesy delivery.

Good luck!

Thanks, I live in a south east suburb of Cleveland, Les Stanford is about a 3 hr drive one way, kind of far and I am sure too late for 2020 allocation. I called local and regional dealers after the reveal and no one returned my calls about ordering a C8. I got Tommy's contact information at MacMulkin from a forum member (Thanks again Harley2!) and he got back to me in a few hours so he got my business. Shipping is around $700 from them so pretty much a wash, but I hate to have it shipped to them first then shipped to me via private carrier without me ever seeing the car. Paranoid about shipping damage after they do the PDI and then having to fight with the shipper to get it resolved. I also plan on ordering the high wing and maybe the ground effects so that just makes the possibility of damage even greater. Depending on timing of delivery (early summer maybe?) I could drive it back the @ 650 miles.

Courtesy delivery is typically done by the fleet sales area (many fleets sales are done with courtesy delivery). I suggest contacting the Fleet Sales Manager at the dealership.

Good point IF you're in a big city area! In our rural area best to use the phone and ask for the finance manager or perhaps ask the service manger who to contact. But the sales manger or salesman is NOT where you should start!

SIDEBAR
Have a funny story about buying from a large Dealer who had fleet sales. My Uncle was the GM at a large Chevy Dealer in a large city. Pop would get a returned fleet car every 2 to 3 years when a company would typically send in 20 to 25 old cars and buy new. Uncle would call and we went to pick the best of the lot!

Recall on one visit for a new Impala (all Pope drove) I was 13 or 14 and went with him to look for a car he would buy. I found one with low mileage. My Uncle looked at it and said it was probably owned by a manger who didn't drive much and had many short trips. Look at the brake pedal and see how it's warn.. Now here is a good car to get. Interior is in great shape, and although higher mileage the brake pedal shows little wear. This was probably driven by a salesman with a lot of highway miles that is great for the engine and car in general! Yep even in the mid 1950s some folks understood "very low mileage cars" were not necessarily best!

That goes along with my '93 Vette Owner's Manual, before OLM, which stated IF most drives are only 3 to 4 miles in length change oil every 3000 miles or every 3 months whichever occurs first!

I also spoke to Barry Fox at Grieco to confirm that everything was good, and he did confirm it. Vanessa even sent me a printout of everything that Grieco is responsible for upon delivery.

I think it is worth an extra 30 - 40 mile drive for you to save $450.

Good luck,

Steve
Vanessa is handling my C8 courtesy delivery from NH to the SF area too. She has been great and super knowledgeable. I will share my options once we get some figures and participating local dealerships.

Best CD I could find near me in the Summer of 2017 when I was getting ready to order a new C7 from MacMulkin Chev. was $150.00 from Strickland Chev. in Pasadena, Texas. When I called to verify the price, the dealership had changed ownership, and they discontinued the CDs.
