Old people-ish..... That's why they didn't use the shifter out of the old people-ish car. Why have a thing that sticks up when it isn't necessary and is just producing electrical signals any way?
I'll see your mini van and raise you 3 super cars....
I was in a Huracan last week that looked identical to this and it was wicked. I see no issue with the C8 configuration.
Did you really say this? Nobody does classy cool cars better than Ferrari. Yeah, if it's good enough for them it's plenty good enough for us.
Indeed I did. Corvette needs to stay unique to survive and not be a Ferrari copy. It starts to remind me of Rolex look alike watches. I guess I’m just not into the whole pretend Ferrari aspect of the C8.

No I said the Cadillac shifter was better fitted to a sports car because it has kind of a stick shift look.
The geriatric shifter is better suited for the sports car than the buttons which are similar to contemporary sports cars... Good logic Gramps.... Thread is an utter failure.

I suggest anyone suffering from C8 Buttonphobia order one of these to help wean yourself off the need to shift. You could even glue it to the cup holder cover on the console when you get your car to help make the transition!

Wait. You were comparing it to a mini van a few posts ago. Now you're saying it's a Ferarri copy? You're bouncing all over the place like a rubber ball. This is your second day here. I really don't think you have anything to contribute. Welcome to the forum.
Trying to figure out why GM didn’t use a joy stick design shifter that at least looks sporty and is used in the XT5. What the C8 has looks to be almost straight out of a Honda Odyssey.
my great grandpa had a 1964 Plymouth valiant with the push button automatic. This kind of reminds me of that.

Just because Ferrari has it doesn’t make it right.
And just because it's similar to (not the same as) a minivan doesn't make it wrong. How it works is what matters. After sitting in several C8s and playing with the shifter controls, my feeling is, meh. It's OK. Nothing special, but also not an issue. With a little bit of familiarity it will become second nature, but it's not the greatest thing since the invention of the shifter, like the GM people would like you to believe. Tadge made a big deal in his presentations at NCM about how premium and tactile the controls were. To me, they feel pretty much like the buttons and switches on the typical Japanese import. Which is, I suppose, a step up from the feel of the switches in the typical GM vehicle.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
